Applications will be issued from eligible candidates for admission to various academic programmes of the University for the year 2017 as per the timeline given above. Admission to various courses are based on Common Admission Test (CAT) / Departmental Admission Test (DAT) / Test for Lateral Entry (LET) and C-MAT(AICTE) / MAT (AIMA) / CAT(IIM) score for MBA.
Candidates should apply on-line and make the fee payment on or before the last dates prescribed. On-line applications shall be submitted only through the website, link for the same is given below.
Candidate can apply online from the official website www.cusat.nic.in. There is a link “New Candidate Registration” which will take the candidate to application form page. Alternatively you can use the direct link given below.
- Enter correctly the candidates name, date of birth & age exactly as given in the qualifying certificate.
- Use valid E-mail ID and an active mobile phone number of the candidate or parent.
- Choose a User Name of your choice with at least 6 characters using alphabets and/or numbers only.
- Do write down the approved user name.
- Choose the correct options out of the 3 options given in the login creation page.
Read the following guidelines for choosing the correct option:
- The second option “Lateral Entry “is only for engineering diploma holders who are applying to the third semester of B Tech.
- The Third option “International Candidates/PIO/Children of Indian Gulf Workers” is for those who are applying for seats reserved for foreign citizens/Children of Indian Gulf Workers.
- The first option “Indian & NRI” is for all Indian Citizens including NRI candidates except for those mentioned in the second and third option.
A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the registered E-mail ID and mobile number of the candidate. Candidate should login for the first time using this password and change the password immediately.
Candidates applying for NRI seats must opt for All India Merit (AIM) seats at the time of option registration else they will not be considered against NRI seats. They can also opt for State Merit(SM) seats if they are “Keralites” as defined in the prospectus. They need not submit separate application for considering them to AIM/SM seats. See clause 5 for explanation of SM/AIM/NRI seats.
The applicants for seats reserved for International candidates/PIO/Children of Indian Gulf Workers are required to submit their application on-line through the website www.cusat.nic.in and after successful submission of their application may forward an advance copy of the confirmation page along with demand Draft/Pay order/ any other instrument (which does not involve any collection charges on the part of the University) for US $100 infavour of Registrar, CUSAT, payable at Ernakulam. The same shall be forwarded by post to the Director, IRAA, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi – 682022, Kerala, India. In the case of foreign citizens the confirmation page along with copies of the required certificates shall be routed either through the Embassy of India in their respective country or through their respective Embassy in India.
Those who are applying for different programmes like M Sc. and/or M BA and/or M Tech may submit the application one by one by logging in each time with the same user name and password. One fee payment is sufficient for all the programmes.
Candidates who intend to apply for Later Entry to B Tech and any other programme/s shall submit two separate applications; one for B Tech (lateral entry) and one for other programmes. Separate application fee payment is required for each such application.
CUSAT CAT 2017 – Application Fee
Last year Application Fee for various categories of seats / applicants for Programmes was as follows:

Candidates who wish to apply for Post-Doctoral, Ph.D, M Phil, Diploma or Certificate programmes should submit the required application fee at the concerned Department in the form of Demand Draft from SBT or SBI drawn in favour of The Registrar, CUSAT and payable at Ernakulam.
Payment of fee is possible only two working days after the on-line submission of application.
There are three options for payment of fee:
Option 1: Download and print the challan form of SBI or SBT from the home page of the candidate and present the same to any SBI branch or SBT branch (do not use SBI challan at SBT counter and vice-versa) and make the payment at the bank counter.
Option 2: This option can be exercised through any bank account in SBT or SBI with internet banking facility. Take a printout of the challan of the bank (SBI or SBT as the case may be) through which on-line payment is to be m ade. Log-in to the on-line banking page. Click the link “ Third Party Transfer “and select the option “ Power Jyothi Fee Collection (PUL)”. Enter the “Fee Type” as entered in the challan and submit. Enter y our date of birth as “ Validation Date “and register number as “ Fee Reference Number” both of which are printed in the challan form.
Option 3: Log in to the home page of the Candidate. Click on the option “Online Payment” and proceed. In this mode, payment can be m ade either by using credit/debit card or through internet banking.
Application Status / Confirmation Page
Three working days after the payment of Fee, the candidate must make sure that the Application Status is Confirmed. Also it’s suggested that the candidate take a print out of the Confirmation Page once its available. It should be signed by the candidate and parent and retained by the candidate. There is no need to send the CUSAT CAT Confirmation page to the university.
If by any chance the confirmation is not received after 3 days from the date of payment, it should be brought to the notice of the IRAA Unit of CUSAT immediately.
CUSAT CAT 2017 Confirmation Page shall be kept in hand by the candidate for producing the same on demand during the time of Test / Interview / Group Discussion / Counseling / Admission. The confirmation page is the proof of successful submission of application.
No documents need be sent to the University by post unless otherwise demanded except for the candidates applying on the basis of GATE Score or any Management Aptitude Test who shall email a soft copy of their Score Sheet/Mark List to [email protected] on or before the final date for on-line submission of application.
