A counselling session will be held for the selected candidates on July 24, 2014 in the IISc campus. Please note that participation in the counselling session is mandatory for confirming your seat in the BS programme.

The cut off marks for shortlisted candidates in different categories in the JEE (Advanced) stream were: 246(General); 195(OBC-NCL); 108(SC); 108(ST), 140(KM) and 140(PH). Among the above shortlisted candidates, those who have secured less than 152 marks in JEE(Advanced) need to attend interview

The cut off marks for shortlisted candidates in different categories in the JEE (Main) stream were: 295(General); 196(OBC-NCL); 150(SC); 108(ST), 181(KM) and 181(PH). Among the above shortlisted candidates, those who have secured less than 275 marks in JEE(Main)need to attend interview

The cut off marks for shortlisted candidates in different categories in the AIPMT stream were: 600(General); 390(OBC-NCL); 300(SC); 216(ST), 362(KM) and 362(PH). Among the above shortlisted candidates, those who have secured less than 463 marks in AIPMT need to attend interview

In addition, depending on the number of vacancies in the general category, spot admission offers will be made to KVPY candidates whose ranks are below 175 in SA-M and SX. This will be held on July 25, 2014. Spot admission will stop at 12 noon on July 25, 2014. If you get selected, you will be required to complete the admission process on the same day.

Candidates attending the interview or spot counselling are required to note that since the number of seats is limited, the chances of getting admission will also be limited. In particular, you are not guaranteed admission.

IISC JEE Main and AIPMT Cut Offs (2014)

A counselling session will be held for the selected candidates on July 4, 2014 in the IISc campus. Please note that participation in the counselling session is mandatory for confirming your seat in the BS programme.

The cut off marks for shortlisted candidates in different categories in the JEE (Main) stream were: 295(General); 215(OBC-NCL); 160(SC); 108(ST), 251(KM) and 251(PH).

The cut off marks for shortlisted candidates in different categories in the AIPMT stream were: 600(General); 430(OBC-NCL); 320(SC); 216(ST), 500(KM) and 500(PH).

Among the above shortlisted candidates, those who have secured less than 275 marks in JEE(Main) and 463 marks in AIPMT need to attend interview

IISC KVPY ADMISSION CUT OFFS (2014)

All SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates qualified in the KVPY-SA/SB/SX/SA-E/SX-E/SX-PWD streams were offered admission. Offers were also made to all general category applicants with ranks of up to 286, 10, 125, and 125 for the KVPY-SA, SB, SA-M and SX streams, respectively.

Offer letters have been sent to these candidates by email. A counselling session will be held for the selected candidates on May 30, 2014 in the IISc campus. Please note that participation in the counselling session is mandatory for confirming your seat in the BS programme.

CUT OFFS 2013

The following is the cutoffs for last year admission to the undergraduate program in IISc. Please note that this is provided as a reference only. The cut offs depends on the number of applicants and seats available. Therefore, IISc will not take any responsibility for you applying or not applying. Therefore, you may use it as a guide only.

All SC/ST/OBC candidates qualified in the KVPY-SA/SB/SX streams were offered admission. Offers were made to all general category applicants with ranks of up to 283, 10, 500 for the KVPY-SA, SB and SX streams, respectively

The final cut off marks for selected candidates in different categories in the JEE (Advanced) stream were: 279 (General); 195 (OBC-NCL); 119 (SC); 108 (ST), 140 (KM) and 150 (PH).”

The final cut off marks for selected candidates in different categories in the JEE (Main) stream were: 295 (General); 204 (OBC-NCL); 108 (SC); 108 (ST), 185 (KM) and 185 (PH).

The final cut off marks for selected candidates in different categories in the NEET (UG) stream were: 600 (General); 400 (OBC-NCL); 216 (SC); 188 (ST), 400 (KM) and 300 (PH).

IISc Bangalore UG Admission 2014 Procedure

The institute shall take admission in BS courses on basis of KVPY, IIT-JEE (Main and Advanced) and AIPMT merit lists. Students desirous of applying to the BS Programme must take at least one of the above examinations.

Students who have appeared or are appearing for any of the national examinations listed below are eligible to apply.

  • KVPY-SA (appeared in 2012 and selected for the Fellowship or Mentorship)
  • KVPY-SB (appeared in 2013 and selected as Fellow)
  • KVPY-SX (appeared in 2013 and selected as Fellow)
  • KVPY Fellows selected through the Empowerment Initiative for SC/ST candidates.
  • IIT-JEE (Main) (appearing in 2014)
  • IIT-JEE (Advanced) (appearing in 2014)
  • AIPMT (appearing in 2014)

The selection for IISc Bangalore UG Admission 2014 will be based on the performance of the applied candidates in any one of the national examinations listed above. A separate merit list of candidates who have applied will be prepared for each of these national examinations and the seats will be offered based on the performance in the examination and the number of seats available. A candidate who has qualified in multiple examinations listed above will be included in all the appropriate merit lists. Separate merit lists will be prepared for candidates belonging to different reserved categories, as per standard Government of India regulations.

IISc Bangalore Cut Offs 2014

The minimum qualification for admission through IIT-JEE and AIPMT are as given below.

  • IIT-JEE (Main): 60% (GN), 54% (OBC-NCL), 30% (SC/ST/PH)
  • IIT-JEE (Advanced): 60% (GN), 54% (OBC-NCL), 30% (SC/ST/PH)
  • AIPMT: 60% (GN), 54% (OBC-NCL), 30% (SC/ST/PH)

IISc Bangalore UG Admission 2014 Eligibility

The BS Programme will be open to students of PUC/12th standard whose main subjects include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (all three). Students who have studied Biology, Economics, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics, etc., should also have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
The candidate must appear, qualify and secure the minimum marks as mentioned above in one or more of the entrance exams.

  • Candidates who have completed their II PUC / 12th Standard in 2013 and those who are expecting to complete their II PUC / 12th Standard in 2014 are eligible to apply.
  • The candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects during their II PUC / 12th Standard.
  • Candidates who have studied Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, etc., in addition to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are also eligible to apply.
  • The candidates must have secured a first class or 60% or equivalent grade (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates) in the II PUC / 12th Standard examination.

IISc Bangalore UG Admission 2014 Important Dates

  • Online applications will be received during 3 February – 30 April 2014.
  • The first set of admission offers will be made to KVPY candidates in May 2014.
  • Additional offers will be made in June and July.
  • All the admitted students are required to attend the counselling sessions to which they are invited.
  • Classes will commence from 1 August 2014.

IISc Bangalore Application Form 2014 for BS Programme

Candidates must apply on-line. Online application may be prepared and submitted by accessing the IISc UG website with effect from 03.02.2014. Online application fee is Rs. 400/- for GN/OBC/KM candidates and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST/PH categories. The deadline for submitting the online application is 30.04.2014.

How to apply for IISc Bangalore UG Admission 2014?

  • Go to the above mentioned link and register.
  • Fill in the details as asked in the application form.
  • Applying to IISc on basis of IIT JEE or AIPMT: In the case of IIT-JEE (Main and Advanced), you have to enter the registration number that is mentioned in your admit card for the examination. Please note that this number is not the application number.
  • In the case of AIPMT, the number you must enter is the roll number given in your admit card for the examination.
  • The roll number of the respective exam will be available to you only when you receive the admit card for the respective examination. You can fill the application form after knowing the number (the deadline for submitting the application is April 30, 2014).
  • Alternatively, you can fill the application form now without filling the details of the qualifying examinations and fill the details later, after receiving the admit card(s).
  • Applying to IISc on basis of KVPY: If you received the Fellowship or Mentorship in KVPY-SA 2012, give your Roll Number and rank. The Roll Number is the letter “A” followed by a 7 digit number. This is the number that you were provided with when you applied for the fellowship. If you appeared in KVPY-SB 2013/SX 2013, give your Roll Number and leave the rank column blank. Update the rank immediately after the declaration of the results. The Roll number is the letter “B” followed by a 7 digit number for KVPY-SB and the letter “X” followed by a seven digit number for KVPY-SX. This is the number that you were provided with when you applied for the Fellowship.
