JEE Main 2014 Online Exam Analysis

The Joint Entrance Exam was conducted in the online mode on 9th April 2014 in two slots. Engineering aspirants who appeared for the JEE Main CBT were elated to find the paper simpler than the offline mode exam held on 6th April.

According to some of the students, the Physics section was relatively easier than the 6-April JEE exam. Also the Maths and Chemistry sections were not difficult. Almost 1.6 lakh students have taken the online test already. 4 more lakh students are yet to appear in the next slots of online test. Overall, approximately 13 lakh students will have taken the JEE Main exam this year by the end of this month.

Some questions were directly from NCERT text books.

Advantages of taking the Online JEE Exam

1  We came across at least ten students in Delhi / NCR who had faced utter confusion at the exam center during the offline exam. There were issues with the distribution of papers which caused loss of almost half an hour of precious exam time. Also, in Gujarat, the same problem was faced as the invigilators got confused with the English-Hindi and English-Gujarati papers. Students were distributed wrong papers, they then had to use white fluid to correct names on the papers and so on. – No such confusion or issues were faced in the online exam.

2  Every year many students lament over having marked the bubble in OMR sheet against wrong question. As the bubbles and questions are so closely spaced in an OMR sheet, if the student has to mark Option A against Qs 59, they often end up marking it against Qs 60 and so on. – In the online mode of the test, as the options are presented against each question clearly, no such issue is faced.

The CBSE will declare the official JEE Main 2014 answer keys on 25th of April. Also candidates can access their JEE Main 2014 answer sheets online.

The scores will be published on 3rd May. The JEE Mains result 2014 will be announced on 7 July.
