Update of Board Roll Number in JEE Main 2015 Application Form
This is to inform all the students who have applied for JEE Main 2015 that they can update their board class 12th (or equivalent) roll numbers in the JEE Main Application Form. To do this, one needs to login at the form correction window. Candidate needs to enter JEE Main application ID and password to login.
CBSE has notified that the academic details including Board Name and class 12th Roll number will be displayed on the website in the month of March 2015 and candidates can do corrections in it at the time of downloading the admit card of JEE (Main) 2015. The candidates who could not fill the class 12th Board roll number in their JEE (Main) application form must have to fill it at the time of downloading the JEE Main 2015 Admit Card.
Update board roll number in JEE Main application form
- You can update the roll number of class XII or equivalent exam, during March, 2015.
- This must be done before downloading admit cards. Only those candidates who have already updated their board details will be issued hall tickets by CBSE, for Joint Entrance Examination (Mains).
- Along with roll number, you can also edit name of your board in this period.

How to update the class 12 roll number in JEE Main form?
- Go to jeemain.nic.in.
- Click on the link that refers to Updation of Board’s Roll Number.
- Enter your application ID and password to login.
- Click on Edit Application Form.
- In the field of Roll Number of Class 12th / Qualifying Exam, enter your roll number.
- Click on Submit.
What if I do not have my roll number yet?
There are students of some boards who are yet to received their board roll numbers. Such students need not worry. They can, for the time being, login and proceed with form correction if they have any other fields to change. You will be again given an opportunity to enter your roll number.
Is it compulsory to enter roll number?
Yes, it is compulsory. Though like said above, if you have not yet received your board roll number, you need not worry.
Till when can I update my roll number?
The form correction window has closed on 31 Jan 2015. This is the first phase when form corrections including entering roll numbers can be done.
Another opportunity will be given in the month of March to only enter board roll number (not form correction). Thus, those students who have not yet received their roll numbers may enter the same then.
The marks of Class 12th /equivalent qualifying examination will be displayed on the website of JEE (Main) during the first / second week of March 2015. The candidates have to verify these marks and confirm it on the website. Last year it was announced that in case of any discrepancy, the candidates should upload the copy of the mark-sheet online only on JEE (Main) website.
For Improvement Students
Question: If a candidate has passed in 2013 and has appeared for improvement in 2014 and is again going for improvement in 2015, what he will fill in the academic details section.
Answer: .In this case, he/she will fill in as under:
Year of Passing 12th / Qualifying Examination : 2013,
Roll Number of either year: 2013/2014 (as per candidate’s wish)
Percentage of same year as the roll number provided: 2013/2014
Appearing for Improvement of Class 12th/Qualifying Examination: YES.
Further it is clarified in the Information Bulletin at Page No .3 that the marks of Class 12th /equivalent qualifying examination will be displayed on the website of JEE (Main) during the second week of June 2015. The candidates will have to verify these marks and confirm on the website. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate should upload the copy of the mark-sheet online only latest by 25th June 2015 on JEE (Main) website. During this period i.e. after the declaration of result of qualifying examination, the candidate may update their request to consider the total marks of a mark-sheet having better marks out of the mark-sheet of passing year or improvement year.
