JEE Main 2017 Update Board Roll Number in Application Form refers to the activity of applicants updating class 12 board exam roll number. All the students who fill application form of JEE Main 2017 can update their board class 12th (or equivalent) roll numbers as per schedule. To do this, one needs to login at the admit card download window or application form correction window. Enter JEE Main application ID and password to login. Significance Of Update Board Roll Numbe In JEE Main 2017
Until last year CBSE was calculating AIR by giving wieghtage to board exam marks. This time however this is no longer a factor for ranking. Even then, the board requests candidates to update roll numbers for the sake of information.

How to update the class 12 roll number in JEE Main form?
- Go to jeemain.nic.in.
- Click on the link that refers to Updation of Board’s Roll Number.
- Enter your application ID and password to login.
- Click on Edit Application Form.
- In the field of Roll Number of Class 12th / Qualifying Exam, enter your roll number.
- Click on Submit.
What if I do not have my roll number yet?
There are students of some boards who are yet to received their board roll numbers. Such students need not worry. They can, for the time being, login and proceed with form correction if they have any other fields to change. You will be again given an opportunity to enter your roll number.
Is it compulsory to enter roll number?
Yes, it is compulsory. Though like said above, if you have not yet received your board roll number, you need not worry.
Till when can I update my roll number?
The form correction window is usually the first phase when form corrections including entering roll numbers can be done.
Another opportunity will be given in the month of March to only enter board roll number (not form correction). Thus, those students who have not yet received their roll numbers may enter the same then.
The marks of Class 12th /equivalent qualifying examination will be displayed on the website of JEE (Main) during the first week of March. The candidates have to verify these marks and confirm it on the website. Last year it was announced that in case of any discrepancy, the candidates should upload the copy of the mark-sheet online only on JEE (Main) website.
For Improvement Students
Question: If a candidate has passed in 2015 and has appeared for improvement in 2016 and is again going for improvement in 2017, what he will fill in the academic details section.
Answer: .In this case, he/she will fill in as under:
Year of Passing 12th / Qualifying Examination : 2015,
Roll Number of either year: 2016 /2017 (as per candidate’s wish)
Percentage of same year as the roll number provided: 2016 /2017
Appearing for Improvement of Class 12th/Qualifying Examination: YES.
Further it is clarified in the Information Bulletin that If a candidate passes Class XII in 2016 but writes one or a few subjects in 2017 for improvement or any other reason, then top 20 percentile cut-off for 2016 will be considered. However, if a candidate writes all the subjects in 2017, then the best of the two performances will be considered. The candidates will have to verify these marks and confirm on the website. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate should upload the copy of the mark-sheet online on JEE (Main) website. During this period i.e. after the declaration of result of qualifying examination, the candidate may update their request to consider the total marks of a mark-sheet having better marks out of the mark-sheet of passing year or improvement year.
