Additional Round Notification

This notification is being issued for Additional Round for the vacant seats for first year of four years degree courses in Engineering and Technology for the academic year 2015-16 in Government, Government Aided including Autonomous Institutes, ICT Mumbai, University Managed and University Departments. Candidates having Maharashtra State General Merit Number are eligible for this round and all vacant seats are treated as general seats and shall be filled as per State General Merit Number. Although there is zero vacancy for some choice codes, candidates can fill options for such choice codes as there is possibility of creation of vacancy due to dynamic nature of allotment process. The rules of refund of fees due to cancellation shall be applicable, if candidate gets allotment in this round. DTE Maharashtra Engineering Merit List 2015

For the academic session 2015-2016, the four year undergraduate engineering and technology courses admissions will be done on the basis of merit obtained in JEE Main Paper I.

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State Candidate

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 50 % marks (minimum 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together. AND Obtained a positive Composite score* i.e., score obtained after adding 50% of JEE (Main) 2015 (Paper 1) marks percentile and 50% of Standard XII (Board or Equivalent Examination) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics marks percentile.

Eligibility Criteria for All India Candidates (Maharashtra & OMS)

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 50 % marks (minimum 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together. AND Obtained All India Rank in JEE (Main) 2015 (Paper 1) given by CBSE

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign National/PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries/ Children of NRI

Candidate should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 50 % marks in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together.

Eligibility criteria for GoI Nominees

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 50 % marks (minimum 45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates of respective States) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together. AND Obtained All India Rank in JEE (Main) 2015 (Paper 1) given by CBSE

Eligibility criteria for J & K Migrant candidates

Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical Vocational subject AND Secured minimum 50 % marks in the subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject added together. AND Obtained All India Rank in JEE (Main) 2015 (Paper 1) given by CBSE

Allocation & Reservation of Seats

Breakup of the seats available for admission through CAP for all types of institutes and seats available for Institute level admission/Seats for Minority community is shown below.

Types of Seats

Maharashtra State Seats: These seats are further divided as follows

a) State Level Seats (SL Seats): These seats shall be available for allotment to all Maharashtra State candidates irrespective of candidate’s Home University Area.

b) Home University Seats (HU Seats): Certain percentage of seats is reserved for Home University i.e. for the University under the jurisdiction of which that institute is situated. Home University seats are available for allotment through CAP for the Maharashtra candidates having their Home University status as that University. For example, candidates having their home university as Mumbai University will be eligible for admission to the Home University seats of those institutes which are located in the jurisdiction of Mumbai University.

c) Seats for candidates belonging to Universities other than Home University (OHU seats): Certain percentage of seats is reserved for Other Universities i.e. for the Universities other than the Home University under the jurisdiction of which that institute is located. Such seats are called as OHU seats. Candidates can opt for seats of any other University (excluding his/her home university) under this provision of OHU seats. For example, candidates having their home university as Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University will not be eligible for the OHU seats of those institutes which are located in Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. Candidates having their home University other than Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University are eligible for these OHU seats of the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.

All India Seats: These seats are available for allotment through CAP, on the basis of All India Rank given by CBSE for JEE (Main) 2015 (Paper 1) to the eligible candidates. All these seats are treated as “General Category” seats and No reservation is provided in these seats for candidates of backward class categories, Ladies, PH, and Defense etc

TFWS Seats: Maximum 5% seats of sanctioned intake per course are available for admissions These seats shall be supernumerary in nature and to be filled through centralized admission process conducted by Competent Authority only.

MKB Seats: These seats are available for candidates belonging to the Maharashtra Karnataka Disputed Border Area

Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Seats: One seat over and above the sanctioned intake capacity in each management institute is available under the CAP.

Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin /Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries Seats: 15% seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin /Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries.1/3rd of the 15 % seats shall be reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and 2/3rd of the 15 % seats shall be reserved for the PIOs/Foreign Nationals.

Maharashtra Engineering Admission 2015 Notification

Admission to First Year Engineering courses in Maharashtra will be on basis of JEE Main 2015. Candidates who wish to seek admission in various colleges and universities in BE / B.Tech courses must appear and qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main), being conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.

The Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai is the Competenet Authority for admission to First Year Engineering 2015-2016.

The aspiring candidates are hereby informed to prepare for the All India JEE Main (Paper 1). The Score of JEE Main (Paper 1) and HSC Marks shall be considered for preparing the Merit. The updated information shall be available on DTE Website and CBSE Website.
