Admission Process for NSIT M.Tech Admission

All candidates for admission to M.Tech. Programme must submit their applications online at the website www.nsit.nic.in.

The selection of the Full-Time (GATE)/ SC/ST/ PH M.Tech. students shall be made on the basis of Gate Score only amongst the candidates registered online for the admission, through screening committee and selection committee.

  • The percentage in qualifying examination shall decide the merit (as on the date of application).
  • In all such cases preference will be given to those who have completed the B.E. / B.Tech. or equivalent degree course on the date of Online registration.

The final selection of the candidates for Sponsored (Full-Time) and Part-Time course shall be made by the Selection Committee on the basis of their performance at the qualifying examination, written test and interview as indicated below:

For Full Time Sponsored/ Part Time M.Tech Programme:

  • Qualifying Examination (Aggregate) 50%
  • Test conducted by Institute 30%
  • Interview/Viva-Voce 20%

Total : 100%

Notes: 

  • Appearing in written test and interview/ Viva- Voce is compulsory for full time sponsored/ part time candidates.
  • A separate merit list will be prepared on the basis of GATE Score only for SC/ ST and Physically Challenged students. All admissions will be made in the order of merit.
  • After approval of the recommendations of the selection committee, the selected candidates will be offered admission to the programme. They will be required to join the concerned Division.
  • There will not be any direct admission at any level after first semester.

Scholarship:

  1. GATE qualified candidates selected for full-time M.Tech course will be entitled for AICTE scholarship as per rules/ procedures decided by AICTE at the time of release of scholarship.
  2. Sponsored/ Part-Time candidate will not be eligible to receive scholarship even if they are admitted on the basis of GATE score

  • Demand Draft/ Banker’s Cheque of requisite admission fee in favour of Director, NSIT, New Delhi payable at Delhi.

Fee Structure

Fee for Indian Students

Candidates selected will be required to deposit the annual fee and other charges as per the admission schedule or as intimated by the Institute. The amount of fee payable by him /her is Rs.79,770/- Rupees Seventy Nine Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy only/- (For Full Time students) and Rs. 78,220/- Rupees Seventy Eight Thousand Two Hundred Twenty only/- (For Part Time students). The fee is likely to be revised. Fee Concession (if any) for Physically Challenged candidates will be applicable as per the guidelines issued by the competent authority.

Fee for foreign Students

Foreign Students can directly apply to NSIT for M.Tech. admission. Candidates selected will be required to deposit the annual fee and other charges as per the admission schedule or as intimated by the Institute. The amount of fee payable by him/her is US$ 6990/-(at the time of admission), US$400 Registration fee and US $100, Special fee per year (likely to be revised) All such candidates must have NOC from MHRD

The fee is to be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favor of Director, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi, payable at Delhi. No part payment will be accepted. No other mode of payment will be accepted. All deposits are payable in full on admission and the refundable security are refunded only when the students leaves the Institute after deducting all the dues as determined by the Institute. Security deposit will be forfeited by the Institute, if it is not claimed within three years of the candidate’s ceasing to be on the rolls of the Institute and shall be deposited to Govt. Account.

Fee for Thesis Submission

All M.Tech. students have to deposit thesis submission fee at the time of thesis submission which is instructed by University of Delhi as per rule. It will be excluding the other charges/ examination fees submitted during IIIrd semester (Full-Time) & Vth semester (Part-Time) registration.

Withdrawal, Drop-Out and Refund

A student, after admission, will be allowed to withdraw his/her admission only up to 10 days of admission. If a student withdraws after 10 days of admission, he/she will be considered a drop-out. The refund of fee under this Para will be as follows:

Withdrawal within 07 days of admission Fees (including refundable security deposit of Rs.
5000/-)shall be refunded after deducting 1000/-
Withdrawal within 10 days of admission. 50%  of  fees  deposited  (excluding  security  and
refundable   security   deposit   of   5000/-  shall   be refunded.)
Drop-Outs i.e  after 10 days of admission Refundable security deposit of 5000/- only will be
refunded.

Irrespective of the data of admission, the refund will be made only after the closing of M.Tech. admissions. The application for withdrawal is to be submitted by the student himself/herself in the prescribed performa (Annexure-VI) in the PG section, Room No. 14 Administrative block of NSIT, enclosing the Original Fee Receipt and Admission slip.
