Symbiosis Law School (SLS) Pune, piloted and enriched by the vision of Padma BhushanDr. S.B. Mujumdar, was established in 1977 under theillustrious banner of Symbiosis Society. Since 2002, it has been a constituent of Symbiosis International University, which is accredited by ‘NAAC’ with ‘A’ grade. Qualification: The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Boardwith minimum 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates). Students who have appeared for their Standard XII final examination and awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate at the time of the final admission.
Intake: The total intake is 300 seats [Inclusive of 120 seats of B.B.A, LL.B (Hons.*) and 180 seats of B.A, LL.B (Hons.*)

Separate Merit Lists for B.B.A, LL.B (Hons.) and B.A. LL.B (Hons.) programmes will be prepared and published. At the time of SET registration, it will be mandatory for the candidates to clearly indicate the programme to which they wish to apply (i.e. only one of the abovementioned programmes). No request for change of Programme will be entertained at any stage.
Note: It is suggested that those candidates who have studied arts/social science subjects for their qualifying examination may apply for B.A, LL.B (Hons.) programme. Similarly, those candidates who have studied commerce/accounts/mathematics/sciences may apply for B.B.A, LL.B (Hons.) programme. The candidates are free to make their own choices depending on their ability, interests and opportunities. Please note that these two programmes differ only in the First Degree contents (either Humanities OR Business Law), whereas the same Law courses are offered in both the programmes. Graduates in both streams are eligible for diverse legal careers and opportunities in Corporate, Litigation, Civil Services, Advocacy, Judiciary, Academic, jobs in International Organizations, International Admissions and others.

- LL.B. [3-Year Programme]: This Programme is available to students who have abasic graduation degree in any discipline.
- Post-Graduate programs in Law: One-Year LL.M Programme with an interdisciplinary approach with 6 specializations and research orientation.
- Diploma: There are 7 Part-time one year Diploma Programs and 1 Post-GraduateDiploma Programme available as value- addition. Many students pursue these programs alongside their Undergraduate or Postgraduate Program.
- Certificate Programs: There are 19 Certificate Programs, which include the much-acclaimed Certificate Programme in European Legal Studies and Certificate Programme in Securities Laws, among others.
Placement: The Placement Cell organizes the placement training throughout the year and during the programme by a systematic development plan. The students are trained, groomed and chiseled to be the best employable, with the combination of managerial and leadership skills and a broad range of professional skills such as legal reasoning skills, advocacy, legal services, legislation, law reforms and advisory. Despite recession, the Cell has managed to place students substantially in placement opportunities from various sectors including PSUs, Law Firms, Banking and Financial Companies, LPOs, Judiciary and Insurance.
Method of Instruction: The medium of instruction is English. The methods are essentially learner-centric, which include lectures, Socratic method, field visits, seminars, group discussions, simulations, case studies, moots, mock trials and ICT-enabled learning by the international guest faculty and guest sessions by the stalwarts in the field.

Infrastructure / Facilities
Library – The Symbiosis Law School, Pune library is enriched with a vast collection of more than 60229 books, 137 journals and 6775 ejournals, numerous other periodicals and magazines and it is a prime source for legal research for both the faculty member and the students. Augmenting traditional print resources with expanding electronic sources, it also provides extensive technologybased learning resources with 17 legal databases including Manupatra, SCC Online Webedition, LexisNexis, Hein Online, Westlaw, JSTOR, EBSCO, KluwerArbitration, Patents and Competition, Legal Sutra, World News Paper, Cambridge Online Books, CLA, Taxmann and Index to Legal Periodicals, LII Of India & Emerald.
Research & Publications: The institute strongly emphasizes research & publications through various research projects and law journals which are being published in collaboration with Lexis Nexis where students contribute significantly.
Computer Lab: Symbiosis Law School, Pune campus is Wi-Fi enabled. It has two state-of-the-artComputer Centers separate for UG and PG students. The Labs are fully equipped for wireless data transmission.
Other Facilities: All classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors & Wi-Fi connection. There is a well-equipped, air-conditioned auditorium-cum-moot court hall, with the seating capacity of 200. The multi-media conference hall has a seating capacity of 200 to conduct, interactive sessions.
Health Services and Health Insurance: The Health Center provides all emergency health services,covers the students under a unique and novel medical insurance scheme with a free and compulsory yearly health checkup. There is a well-equipped and modern gymnasium available within the campus.
Canteen : Multi-cuisine food court of the campus caters to a variety of menu and preferences at a concessional rate.
Hostel : Limited hostel facility is available on campus based on merit. However, the institute will provide detailed information on the accommodation available in the near-by areas.
