The admission is conducted twice in a year. First in the month of January and then in the month of August. ACSIR Ph.D. Admission 2020 – 2021 Result
ACSIR has released the final selected candidate’s list for Ph.D admission. The candidates can check whether they have been selected or not from the official website of AcSIR. The List of candidates shortlisted for Aptitude Test/Interview is also published by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) on its official website, which is acsir.emli.in.

ACSIR Ph.D. Admission 2020 – 2021 Application Form
The willing candidates can fill up and submit the application form online through acsir.emli.in. The candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying for admission. Direct link to register for ACSIR Ph.D. Admission 2020 is provided below.
Application Fee: The institute does not charge any fee from the candidates for application.
Application form fill-up process is divided into following three steps/phases.
- Registration– Using the direct link provided above, candidates need to register following which they are going to receive an email with login credentials and link for further application process.
- Complete Application Form- Accurately fill in all the details in the form. Upon submission, AAN (AcSIR Application Number) is generated. This must be kept safe.
- Print Acknowledgement of Admission Receipt with AAN.
Only one application is allowed by an applicant for each program. If at any time, it is found that more than one application is filled by a candidate then the candidature is summarily rejected.

ACSIR Ph.D. Admission 2020 – 2021 Admission Process
The selection of the candidates is made using an aptitude test and/or an interview. Following points must be noted.
- Kindly ensure correctness of information being filled during Registration and Complete Application phase.
- Minimum eligible qualifications for academic programs are listed in the Important Instruction section of Homepage of the Online Admission Portal
- Candidates should note that the admission to all stages of the admission process shall be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
- Mere issue of the name in the list of Shortlisted and/or Selected list of candidates shall not imply that his / her candidature has been finally cleared.
- Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents shall be taken up before the aptitude test and/or selection interview and at the time of joining at the respective Lab / Institute.

ACSIR Ph.D. Admission 2020 – 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to apply for admission in ACSIR for PhD must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria as provided below:
Eligibility Criteria for PhD (Sciences) and Sponsored PhD (Sciences)
PhD (Sciences):
- Candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology, Medicine or Master’s degree in Science are eligible to apply. The candidate should be having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/ SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST etc.) or any other equivalent fellowship like INSPIRE, RGNF etc to be eligible.
- Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows, Group-IV Scientists and Group-III Technical Staff of CSIR can also apply (as per relevant AcSIR rules).
Sponsored Ph.D. (Sciences):
Candidates with a Master’s degree in Science with endorsement from Industry, Academic or Research Institutes for required academic leave and financial support during program can apply.
Those qualifying their degree in percentage have to use the following formula,
CGPA=(Percentage + 5) /10. Applicants with percentage ≥ 95%, have to fill 10 CGPA in the Online Application Form.
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. (Engineering), Sponsored Ph.D. (Engineering):
A Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology following a 4-year engineering/technology or 4/5 year science degree; or an integrated minimum 5-year M.Tech degree; or equivalent. AND
At least one of the following:
- Awarded a national-level fellowship (such as NET JRF) tenable at CSIR institutes.
- Meeting all the conditions required for eligibility for the CSIR-SRF.
- Meeting all the conditions for award of the INSPIRE fellowship (typically awarded to students ranked first in the University).
- Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for Project Assistants to register for a Ph.D.
- Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for industry-sponsored students.
Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows, Group-IV Scientists and Group-III Technical Staff of CSIR can also apply (as per relevant AcSIR rules).
Integrated Dual-Degree PhD (IDDP) Program
A 4-year undergraduate degree in Engineering or Science (such as BE/BTech/BS), or a 5-year degree in Science (such as MSc), or equivalent. AND
At least one of the following:
- Awarded a national-level fellowship (such as NET JRF) tenable at CSIR institutes
- Meeting all the conditions required for eligibility for the CSIR-GATE-JRF
- Meeting all the conditions for award of the INSPIRE fellowship (typically awarded to students ranked first in the University).
- Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for Project Assistants to register for a Ph.D.
- Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for industry-sponsored students.
Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows, Group-IV Scientists and Group-III Technical Staff of CSIR can also apply (as per relevant AcSIR rules).
