All India bar examination (AIBE) is conducted every year by bar council of India (BCI). This examination is conducted to assess the basic knowledge of law & analytical skills of the qualifying advocates. The AIBE qualified advocates are awarded the ‘Certificate Of Practice’ by bar council of India (BCI) to pursue their law practice across India.

AIBE sets a minimum benchmark for the qualifying advocates to receive their license to practice law all across India. This year BCI is going to conduct AIBE (X) 2017 across India.

AIBE(X) 2017 is going to be conducted on 26 March 2017 this year. BCI had released the notification for AIBE (X) 2017 on 03.01.2017. The schedule for AIBE (X) 2017 is given below:

BCI has made few changes this year in AIBE(X) 2017. Apart from constantly rescheduling its dates, BCI has also introduced some changes in its syllabus. Some significant changes made in AIBE syllabus,is about introduction of some new subjects for the examination as well as omission of few subjects from it.

Subjects Introduced

  • Public Interest Litigation – 4 marks
  • Law Related to Taxation – 4 marks
  • Land Acquisition Act – 2 marks
  • Intellectual Property Law – 2 marks

Subjects Omitted

  • Jurisprudence
  • Limitation Act (however, code of civil procedure and criminal procedure code have certain provisions around limitation which may still be asked)
  • Environmental Law ( questions around constitutional law and environment can still be asked)
  • Corporate Social Responsibility

AIBE (X) 2017 Registration

The notification for online registration for AIBE(X) 2017 was released on 03 Jan 2017 by BCI. Registration can be done either through online or offline mode.The online registration started from 16 Jan 2017 & the last date was extended till 05 Mar 2017 from 26 Feb 2017.   • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)

AIBE (X) 2017 Registration Fee

The candidates registering for AIBE have to pay registration fees for the examination. The registration fees for SC/ST candidates is Rs 2500 & for GEN/OBC candidates is Rs 3500. The payment set by BCI was to be done only by challan till 05 Mar 2017. Later the date was extended to 09 Mar 2017 & the mode of payment chosen was through DD only.

AIBE (X) 2017 Admit Card

The candidates who have registered for the AIBE (X) can download their admit card from the official website of AIBE on 18 Mar 2017 after 10:00 a.m.

AIBE (X) 2017 Result

The result of the examination going to be held on 26 Mar 2017 will be announced on the official website of AIBE. Candidates can check their result with their roll number and date of birth. Qualified candidates would be awarded ‘Degree Of Practice’ by BCI.
