AIIMS Ph.D. 2019 Entrance Exam

Candidates who willing to take admission into the Ph.D programme could able to apply for AIIMS Ph.D. Programme January & July 2019 Session (Combined) by filling the application form. The application form has released in online mode. Prior to filling up the application form candidates must ensure that they full fill all the eligibility criteria for the programme. Result

After successful completion of Entrance exam the conducting body has publised the list of candidates who qualify the examination. The result for all courses has been released on the university official website. Note: All seats in a single code number (related to a Single Department) will be clubbed and candidates
qualifying for them will be offered the project of their choice (within that code number) based on
their merit.

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

Medical Qualification: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/ DM/M.Ch in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board of Examination. Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.

Nursing Qualification: Candidates holding M.Sc degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Nursing Speciality will also be eligible for Ph. D admission in College of Nursing.

Non-Medical: For non-medical candidates, eligibility shall be Master’s Degree (two years course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject as per requirement of the project. Candidates holding M.Sc. (Other than M.Sc. Nursing) M.Tech. degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category.

Candidate possessing Masters Degree through distant learning course shall not be eligible.

While seeking project details from the department, the desired qualification of Masters Degree to be suitable for project work should be mentioned by the respective department. The same will be displayed along with Number of Seats & Department.

Candidate having eligibility under non-medical category should have at least 60% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified.

The Non-medical candidates should have preferably qualified in any one of the following national entrance tests in the last 2 years:

  • Joint CSIR – UGC NET for JRF
  • ICMR – JRF
  • ICMR – SRF
  • DBT – JRF
  • DBT – SRF
  • NBHM screening test
  • Graduate aptitude test (GATE)
  • INSPIRE fellowship
  • UGC – JRF
  • UGC – SRF
  • CSIR – JRF
  • CSIR – SRF
  • DST – JRF
  • DST – SRF

Application Form

Candidates who want to fill the application form, can fill the application from the official website or can directly fill the application through the link which is given on the application page which is provided above in the quick link section. Candidates have to register themselves by following the simple steps given in the “Application page” to complete the application form of AIIMS Ph.D. for 2019 session. Candidates are required to fill the application form in online mode only any other mode of application form will not be accepted in any manner. Candidates are required to pay more attention prior to fill the application form and final submission. After the final submission no any changes will be allowed by the institute.

Admit Card

After successful completion of application form, All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) will release the admit card for eligible candidates. Admit card will only be issued by the institute on official website only. It must be noted Admit card will not be sent by post. If Candidates found any mistakes in admit card the he may contact to the officials of the exam conducting body prior to the examination. Selection Process

Selection for Ph.D. registration will be through a three-stage performance evaluation as under:

(i) Medical / Dental/Nursing candidates

Stage I: 30 Marks (30 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Aptitude related MCQs covering English (written and verbal skills), Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Cell Biology, Lab Technology etc.

Stage II: 40 Marks (40 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Subject related theory based comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of MD/MS/MDS/M.Sc. Entrance level.

  • Total Marks : 70 (30+40) – Stage I & II
  • Total Duration: 90 Minutes – Stage I & II

Note: 

  • Candidates must score at least 35 marks in stages I and II (combined) to be eligible for stage III. Candidates who do not fulfill the criteria to qualify for stage III will not be eligible for selection.
  • The Special Weightage of 10 marks will be added to the total score of Stages I and II for candidates who fulfill both the following criteria:
    • they are eligible for stage III
    • they also hold a Medical Degree (MBBS/ BDS/ MDS/ DNB/ MD/ MS/ DM/ M.Ch.) or M.Sc. (Nursing) or equivalent.

Stage III: Out of the candidates who secured 50 percent or above in the written test (Stage-I & II plus the special weightage), candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment (carrying 20 marks).

(ii) Non-Medical candidates

Stage I: 30 Marks (30 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Aptitude related MCQs covering English (written and verbal skills), Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Cell Biology, Lab Technology etc.

Stage II: 40 Marks (40 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Subject related

  • Total Marks : 70 (30+40) – Stage I & II
  • Total Duration: 90 Minutes – Stage I & II

Stage III: Out of the candidates who secured 50 percent or above in the written test (Stage-I & II plus the special weightage), candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment (carrying 20 marks).

Candidates who have qualified in any one of the following entrance tests in the last 2 years will be given a weightage of (10 marks). Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICMR-SRF, DBT-JRF, DBT-SRF, NBHM screening test, Graduate aptitude test (GATE), INSPIRE fellowship, UGC-JRF, UGC-SRF, CSIR-JRF, CSIR-SRF, DST-JRF, DST-SRF. However, the marks of special weightage will only be added to those candidates who will secure more than 50% or above marks in written test (Stage I & II separately) to determine the merit.
