AIIMS PhD 2020 Result
The result comes in the PDF format on the official website only. The result for stage I mentions the list of all the qualified candidates Roll Number wise. All the qualified candidates then have to appear for the Stage II which is Departmental Assessment. The AIIMS PhD 2020 result for Stage I and the Final Result releases as per the schedule. If the result for Stage I releases, then the qualified candidates must start preparing for the second stage.
To appear for the 2nd stage, candidates have to upload some documents on their dashboard. After that, the Admit Card for Stage II releases on the official website which the candidates have to download and take out a printout. If the Final Result releases on the official website, then the qualified candidates can start preparing for the physical counselling held afterward.

AIIMS PhD 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Before filling out the Application Form, candidates must check out the Eligibility Criteria for AIIMS PhD 2020 below:
Eligibility for Medical Candidates:
- Medical Qualifications: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/ DM/M.Ch in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board of Examination. Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.
- Nursing Qualifications: Candidates holding M.Sc. degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Nursing Speciality will also be eligible for Ph. D admission in College of Nursing.
Eligibility for Non-Medical Candidates:
- For non-medical candidates, eligibility shall be Master’s Degree (two years course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject as per the requirement of the project. Candidates holding M.Sc. (Other than M.Sc. Nursing) M.Tech. degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category.
- Candidate possessing a Masters Degree through distance learning course shall not be eligible
- Candidate having eligibility under non-medical category should have at least 60% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified.
The non-medical candidates should have preferably qualified in any one of the following national entrance tests in the last 2 years:

AIIMS PhD 2020 Application Form
Application Form for AIMS PhD has been released on the official website for all the candidates who want to pursue a PhD in any of the programme offered by the institute. Interested candidates can apply for the Form as per the eligibility criteria. Candidates have to register first to fill AIIMS PhD entrance exam application form. Applicants must download and take a print of the registration form. They should preserve a copy of registration form till the admission process is completed.

AIIMS PhD 2020 Admit Card
AIIMS PhD admit card 2020 can be downloaded from AIIMS official website. AIIMS, New Delhi, does not send the hard copy of it to the candidates via post. To download it, candidate id and password is required. The admit card is released separately for Stage 1 and Stage 2. It is mandatory for the candidates to carry a hard copy of the AIIMS PhD admit card as a digital copy shall not be accepted at the test center. Verify that the details printed on the admit card is correct and in case if there is an error, then contact the concerned authorities immediately about it.
AIIMS PhD 2020 Exam Pattern
The exam is conducted into 2 Stages – Stage I and Stage II. Stage I is a computer-based test and Stage II is the departmental assessment. Exam Pattern of Stage I:
- Duration of the Exam: 1 Hour 30 Minutes
- Mode of the Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Language of the Question Paper: English only
- Type of Examination: Objective Type
- Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Based Questions
- Total Number of Parts in Question Paper: There are two Stages in the Question paper – Stage I and Stage II.
- Total Number of Questions: 70 Questions
- Total Number of Marks: 70 Marks
- For every correct answer: 1 mark is added to the total score.
- For every wrong answer: -⅓ mark is deducted from the total score.

Note: The candidates are selected on the basis of the combined marks obtained in each stage of the Entrance Exam. Extra weightage for 10 marks are also added to the total score of the candidates in Stage I if they clear the qualifying criteria.

AIIMS PhD 2020 Selection Procedure
Candidates can check out the AIIMS PhD 2020 Selection Procedure below:
Stage I:
- All the eligible candidates first have to appear for the Entrance exam which is Stage I. The exam is held for both – Medical and Non – Medical candidates.
- The minimum qualifying marks for Stage I is 35 marks (combined in Stage I and Stage II of the Entrance Exam)
- The qualified candidates are then provided special weightage in their total score if they pass the eligibility criteria as mentioned above.
Stage II:
The institute releases the list of all the Stage I qualified candidates online. The qualified candidates have to then upload the following list of documents in the specified duration of time:
- Date of Birth Certificate
- Graduation Certificate
- Graduation Mark Sheet
- Post-graduation certificate
- Post-graduation Mark Sheet
- No Objection Certificate, if required
- Experience Certificate, if any
- Copy of the Certificate of National Entrance Test (for non-medical candidates)
- Copy of the Score Card of National Entrance Test (for non-medical candidates)
- Any other certificate / document
Note:
- Candidates have to upload the scanned documents only on the official website through My Page by entering the login credentials.
- Candidates also have to upload documentary evidence of sanction of Govt. Fellowship in his/ her name to be considered in those seats where own Fellowship is mandatory.
After the uploading of the above-mentioned documents, the Admit Card releases as per the schedule on the official website. Candidates have to download the Admit Card and appear for the Stage II at the mentioned venue. The Final Result is a compilation of both the Stages plus the Special Weightage. Candidates are selected on the basis of the Final Result.
AIIMS PhD 2020 Counselling
All those candidates who appeared in the Final Result cum Merit List have to appear for the counselling procedure. The dates of the counselling are notified online as per the schedule. The call letters also released on the official website. The institute does not send any call letters to the candidates individually, they have to download it from the website only. It contains important instructions which the candidates should read carefully.
Candidates can select the choice of project in their respective Department during the Counselling procedure. Candidates cannot change their choice afterwards. All the candidates have to carry the counselling letter and a copy of the Admit card, without which they cannot participate in the counselling procedure.
AIIMS PhD 2020 Cut Off
Candidates are selected on the basis of the overall marks obtained in both stages. The candidates have to clear the Stage I to appear for the Stage II. The minimum overall qualifying marks to clear the Stage I for Medical and Non-Medical is 35 Marks. If the candidate does not secure the minimum qualifying marks, he/she becomes ineligible to appear for Stage II.
AIIMS PhD 2020 Admission
The Admission is done on the basis of the below mentioned criteria:
- Verification of all Original Certificates/Degrees/NOC from concerned department including the eligibility.
- Verification of other relevant documents to further check if the candidate is meeting all the conditions as specified in the Prospectus and Institute’s regulations.
- Proof of availability of research funds/fellowship/grant from recognized funding agency for Project code where Fellowship is mandatory.
- Admission to PhD Programme is done on the basis of the availability of research funds/fellowship/grant from recognized funding agencies.
- The admission is finalized and the offer is given to the candidate only when evidence of the availability of research funds/grant/fellowship for the project is submitted to the Academic Section by the selected candidate/s through concerned Head of the Department.
