MBBS: The five-and-a-half-year program in Medicine, including a year of internship, involves both theory classes and practical sessions. Clinical exposure begins in the second year with classes conducted by clinical specialists emphasizing the relevance of the basic sciences to clinical practices. Hospital postings and field visits to public centers aim at exposing the candidate to different scenarios in which doctors in India might find themselves, and how to go about providing the best care in all the circumstances.

BDS: The five-year course, offered with a 1-year optional rotating internship, aims at developing students’ clinical skills under close supervision and mentoring of faculty members. The aim and objective of the program are to produce a dentist who is socially acceptable and is able to work safely and effectively on patients in diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dental and oral diseases.

Eligibility

MBBS: NEET UG – 2019 qualified candidates (both General and NRI Category) who have been allotted to Amrita School of Medicine by the MCC, New Delhi are eligible to report for admissions for the academic year 2019-20.

BDS: NEET UG – 2019 qualified candidates (both General and NRI Category) who have been allotted to Amrita School of Dentistry by the MCC, New Delhi are eligible to report for admissions for the academic year 2019-20.

Selection and Counselling

Selection & counseling for admissions of General and NRI candidates is done only from DGHS, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi.

About NEET

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted by National Testing Agency. This exam’s score is used to admit interested candidates in MBBS/BDS and other undergraduate level medical/dental courses. NEET is accepted by all medical colleges under Medical Association/Dental Association of India except AIIMS and JIPMER, who have their own entrance exams. It is a computer based test and is conducted twice a year.
