As a precautionary measure against COVID-19, Aligarh Muslim University has decided to postpone all the entrance exams which were to be held in the month of April 2020. The exam dates for the test scheduled in the month of May, Jun, Jul, etc. remains unchanged for now. With this, the admit card for the postponed exam will now release when the new exam dates are announced by the university, most probably in the month of April 2020.
The dates of the following AMU entrance / departmental tests for following courses have been postponed:
- B.Sc Hons
- B.Com Hons
- BA Hons
- BA LLB
- BA Hons Foreign Languages
- Sr. Sec. School Certificate (Science Stream) / Diploma in Engg.
- Sr. Sec. School Certificate (Commerce / Humanities Stream)
- Paramedical Diploma Courses through CET
- Diploma in general nursing and midwifery
- B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture
- B.P.Ed
- M.P.Ed
The dates of all these entrance exams were falling between April 12 to 24, 2020. The notice has not mentioned the new dates. It just states the departmental / admission tests of the University schedule in the month of April 2020 stand postponed.

AMU Entrance Exam 2020
Admission in AMU is done on the basis of entrance exam for most of the courses. In some courses, the departmental test is conducted to fill the seats. The schedule for the entrance exam and the departmental test was announced earlier this year and the application process for most courses has concluded.
However, with COVID-19 pandemic, all exam dates in April have been changed. Other important entrance exams that include AMU Engineering Entrance Exam (AMUEEE), are scheduled in the months of May, June and later this year. Such entrance exams have not yet been rescheduled and the dates remain unchanged for them.
The entrance exam of AMU witnesses mass gathering which includes candidates traveling to various exam centers spread across the nation to appear for the test. The pattern of the test varies from course to course. Selected candidates based on the entrance test scores are then called for seat allotment and admission.

To date, many entrance exam has been postponed. The situation due to COVID-19 is not getting any better as per the latest updates. Therefore, there are chances that more entrance exams might be postponed as precautionary measures. Below is the list of the exam that has been postponed till date:

How Should Candidates Utilize this Period
The most important thing at this moment is to be able to distinguish between news and non-news. The updates and notices can only be trusted if they are from the official sources. Do not rely on any unofficial source or verify the same before being totally sure.
Second, stay healthy and stay in. It is the only way to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. Use this time to self evaluate the exam preparation and complete every nook and corner for the syllabus.
