BHU MD / MS Admission 2017 shall be done on the basis of NEET PG 2017. Admission in MD / MS in Banaras Hindu University is being done for Institute of Medical Sciences. Candidates who are eligible for the program, have appeared and qualified in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test PG 2017, can apply for the BHU MD / MS Admission 2017. BHU MD / MS 2017 Counselling
The Counselling for all Postgraduate Courses (Diploma/MD/MS/MDS/ DM/ M.Ch.) in all Medical Educational Institutions in a State/Union Territory, including Medical Educational Institutions established by the Central Government, State Government University, Deemed University, Trust Society of a company/ Minority Institutions/Corporation shall be conducted by the State Government. Such Common Counselling shall be under the overall superintendence, direction and control of the State Government.
As per information available till 30.03.2016, the Counselling for the PG seats under State Quota of IMS, BHU, would be done at the level of Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh. All applicants who have registered with IMS, BHU through Form Zero, for consideration for admission to the PG Courses, on seats other than the seats being filled through the 50% All India Quota, will now need to register for the UPNEET for being considered for the counselling being conducted through the Director General, Medical Education & Training, Uttar Pradesh.
So applicants both Institutional (IMS, BHU passed) and non-Institutional (External candidates registered through Form Zero) aspiring for admission to the PG seats of IMS, BHU are required to visit www.upneet.gov.in, www.updgme.in for detailed information regarding eligibility, seat availability, registration and procedure of counselling. The last date for online registration for UPNEET 2017 is 03 April, 2017 up to midnight.
BHU MD / MS Admission 2017
There is no separate entrance examination. BHU MD / MS Admission 2017 will be based on scores of NEET PG 2017. All candidates have to apply to Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU Varanasi to seek admission to PG course. Candidates who have appeared and qualified NEET PG 2017 are eligible for admission based on their rank in the above examination. Those candidates who have not qualified NEET PG 2017 need not apply. Those who are ranked in NEET-PG 2017 result and those not ranked but qualified in above examination are eligible for application. Candidate has to upload the scorecard of NEET-PG 2017.
Duration of the courses: Three years from the date of admission.
About IMS, BHU – Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University is among the top ten medical colleges in India.Institute has 134 PG seats for MD/MS; 50 percent seats (67 seats) are given to all India pooland remaining 50% seats are for internal students of Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University who have passed MBBS from this institute and have completed rotatory internship by 31st March 2017. Reservation policy on PG seats are as per GOI rules.
BHU MD / MS Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
A candidate, who holds MBBS degree from a recognized Medical College or a Foreign Medical degree included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible.
Candidates who have studied / passed MBBS from the state of Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh are not eligible for 50% All India Quota. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to pursue MBBS from Medical Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible to apply for admission.
The candidates who have obtained MBBS degree from the Medical Colleges which are not recognized by Medical Council of India shall not be eligible for admission. However, a candidate who, after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the Foreign Medical degree recognized by MCI), is undergoing 12- month compulsory rotating internship/practical training shall not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained full registration on or before 31st March, 2017.
Registration with M.C.I./State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished at the time of counselling and admission in IMS, BHU.
Those candidates who have completed PG course in one subject are not eligible to do PG in another Subject.
Only those Candidates who have passed MBBS from Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU in December 2015 (Supplementary Batch by 31.3.2016) and have completed compulsory rotatory internship before 31.03. 2017 will be considered for admission to MD/MS Course-2017 in IMS, BHU under internal quota pool provided the candidate has appeared and qualified in NEET PG 2017 examination.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many PG seats are available for external students?
There are a total of 134 seats for PG courses; out of which 67 seats have been given to all India quota for online counselling for which one may visit MCC web site. However, remaining 67 seats are for internal students of BHU who have qualified NEET PG 2017. Seats of this internal quota which are left over will be offered to external students as per rank in NEET PG 2017.
What documents are required at the time of joining in IMS, BHU?
Original document for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses required at the time of joining in IMS, BHU are as mentioned below:
- Admit Card issued by NBE
- Result / Rank letter issued by NBE
- Mark Sheets of MBBS 1st, 2nd and 3rd Professional Examinations
- MBBS Degree Certificate.
- Internship Completion Certificate.
- Permanent / Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI / State Medical Council.
- High School / Higher Secondary Certificate / Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth.
- Candidates allotted seat must carry one of the identification proof (ID Proof) to IMS, BHU at the time of admission. Proof of ID must be original, valid and should not have expired.
- The Candidate should also bring other certificates, if applicable.
Candidates without original certificates/documents shall not be allowed to take admission in IMS, BHU. However, those candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institutes / Colleges / Universities and have come for admission with a certificate from admitted college stating that “their original certificates are deposited with the institute and will be returned to candidates who are selected in IMS, BHU shall ONLY be considered for the admission procedure.
