How to Apply?

Application forms for the B.Tech undergraduate programmes are available free of cost. It can be downloaded from the BMU’s website or can be obtained from:

As part of an application, applicants are required to provide the following:

  • Completed application form with relevant enclosures
  • A completed statement of purpose
  • Application fee of Rs. 1500 (online payment)

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants appearing for their class XII final board examinations from any of the following boards:
  • Andhra Pradesh State Board
  • Telangana State Board
  • Tamil Nadu State Board
  • Kerala State Board
  • Minimum aggregate score of 80% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class XII final board results.
  • Valid score for JEE, any State-Government conducted engineering entrance test, SAT or ACT.

2. Applicants from all other Indian boards recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

  • Minimum aggregate score of 70% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class XII
  •  Valid score for JEE, any State-Government conducted engineering entrance test, SAT or ACT

3. International Baccalaureate (IB) students are required to have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the Class 12 level and have a valid score for JEE, any State-Government conducted engineering entrance test, SAT or ACT.

4. Cambridge/IGCSE board students are required to have 3 A-levels, studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the Class 12 level and have a valid score for JEE, any State-Government conducted engineering entrance test.

5. The students who have taken SAT or ACT exams, after the submission of scores to BML Munjal University will increase their chances of selection. Their DI Code for SAT applicants is – 7534. All applicants applying with SAT/ ACT scores need to send us their official score reports.

Evaluation Process

BML Munjal University uses a multi-dimensional approach to evaluate students for each of its undergraduate programmes. For the B.Tech programme, a student is evaluated on the basis of

  • Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12 final examination scores
  • Performance in entrance/aptitude tests such as JEE, SAT etc.
  • Personal interview (in the personal interview, the candidate will be specifically evaluated on passion, creativity, application-orientation and communication skills)

Admission Procedure

Applicants will have to go through the following process:

  • A complete application form should be submitted with all relevant enclosures and application fee.
  • Applications and shortlisting candidates should be reviewed.
  • Personal Interview.
  • Admission decision should be taken by the selection committee.

The decision to short-list applicants for a personal interview and group discussion and make a formal offer of admission thereafter will be taken by the selection committee. The committee’s decision in this regard is final and binding.

Migration Policy

The Admissions Committee will assess eligibility based on equivalence of the subject/course content studied. Students will need to have cleared their first year in a B.Tech programme at any other institution without any backlog and must have an aggregate score of 60%.

For the students eligible for migration to the B.Tech programme at BMU, they need to have:

  • PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) aggregate score in class XII final exams above 70%
  • Individual scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class XII final exams above 65%
  • English score in Class XII final exams above 70%

Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for an interview on the basis of their first-semester result, JEE score (if applicable), PCM aggregate, essay, and extra-curricular performance.

Note: There are no scholarships for migration students.

Lateral Admissions

Laptop

It is mandatory for all the students to have a laptop. Configuration will be shared with candidates post the acceptance of an offer.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel tower is the traditional hostel seen across most colleges and it features single, double, and triple rooms, with shared common rooms and bathrooms on each floor. The hostel apartment is a new concept introduced at BMU, with a small group of students sharing an apartment. Apartments have single rooms, double rooms, or triple rooms, depending on their layout, and have a living room equipped with a fridge, microwave, and electric kettle, sofa, and lounge chairs. Each apartment can only be accessed by the students that live in that apartment. There is a separate apartment building only for girls, which has only single and double rooms.

Please note that hostel accommodation will be assigned by the Admissions Committee. In case a student whose hostel costs are also covered fully or partially by scholarship wishes to upgrade his/her accommodation, the additional cost will have to be borne by him/her.

  • AC room charges – 10,000 extra (to be distributed proportionately amongst the number of students sharing the room)
  • Electricity would be charged on actuals
  • Above fee and charges are related to regular academic calendar. Fee and charges related to stay in campus beyond the academic calendar are not included and will be charged extra.
  • In case any taxes/ levies on fee are charged by the Central/State/Local Authorities/Overseas Authorities from time to time, the same shall also be borne by the students, as applicable.

Note :

  • Hostel room allotment depends on the availability of rooms at the time of request
  • Female students have some options of single occupancy and limited option of double occupancy in Apartment
  • The fees stated here are indicative and can be revised in the future at the sole discretion of BMU
  • The fees do not include any additional programmes undertaken at BMU
  • The fees do not cover expenses incurred for internships, projects or any international trip undertaken during the duration of the program
  • The fees do not include the cost of books and study material
  • All fees can be paid semester-wise
  • Above fee and charges are related to the regular academic calendar. Fee and charges related to programs beyond the academic calendar are not included and will be charged extra.
  • In case any taxes/ levies on fee are charged by the Central/State/Local Authorities/Overseas Authorities from time to time, the same shall also be borne by the students, as applicable.
  • Hostel rooms will be reassigned for all incoming students in Year 2
  • Freshers will be assigned ONLY double and triple accommodation options in Year 1
  • Hostel rooms will be assigned on first-come basis subject to availability of time of allotment
