Candidates seeking admission in M.Sc courses have to fill their application form online through the official website as per schedule date. Candidates are requested to read the complete instruction before filling the application form. Selection will be based on the marks secured in the entrance test held by University.

BVP MEVST/MGI 2018 Eligibility

If candidate opts for MEVST, then the candidate should have passed:

  1. The Bachelors examination from any recognised University or its equivalent examination with any of the following subjects – Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Geology, Geography, Life Sciences, Fisheries Science, B.E.(Civil Engineering), Environmental Engineering, Agriculture, Physics, Biotechnology and
  2. Secured minimum 50% marks (45% is case of SC/ST candidates) in the above mentioned examinations.
  3. Candidates who have appeared or who are likely to appear for the qualifying examination i.e. B.Sc or equivalent but whose results have not been as yet declared can also appear for this entrance test provided they have offered the mentioned subjects at the said examination.
  4. The candidate must have appeared for the All India Entrance Test i.e. MEVST 2018 conducted by this University.

If candidate opts for MGI, then the candidate should have passed:

  • M.Sc./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Applied) in Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Geography, Forestry, Wildlife Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Agriculture, Oceanography, Marine Sciences, Bioinformatics
  • B. F.Sc. (Fisheries Science)
  • B. Arch.
  • B. A. Geography
  • B.E. in Mechanical, Civil, IT, Computer, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunications, Environment.

Application Form and Payment

A candidate desirous of appearing in the CET BBT 2018 is required to complete the prescribed application form on or before the last date of application and submit to the University along with entrance test fee.

Application / Entrance FEE: Rs. 1200/-

The candidates should strictly follow the instructions given in the website while filling up the application form online, and must read the instructions carefully before filling up the online application form. Instructions are mentioned at ‘Registration Guide’ menu which is available on website. Before filling up the application form online, candidates should:

  • Create their login credential
  • Have a scanned image of their recent passport size photograph
  • Have a scanned image of their signature, ready before filling up the online application form.
  • Read the procedure and guidelines for online payments of test fee which is to be made through Credit Card / Debit Card/ Internet Banking.

CET MEVST /MGI Admit Card 2018

Admit card will be available online to candidates after successfully filling up the online application form and payment of the entrance test fee. Candidates are required to download and print a copy of the admit card. Candidates MUST bring the following documents to the test centre:

  • Printed copy of Admit Card
  • Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid and non-expired): Aadhaar Card /PAN card/Driving license/Voter ID/Passport. The name on the photo identification must match with the name as show on the Admit card.

Candidate reporting to test center without the above said requisite documents shall not be allowed to appear for the entrance test.

BVP MEVST/MGI 2018 Exam pattern

For MEVST / MGI-2018 there will be one question paper, set in English medium containing 100 objective type questions. Questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed for the test. Each correct answer will get one mark. There is no negative marking. The weightage given for subjects will be as follows:

Syllabus

The entrance examination for admission to M.Sc course will be based on the following syllabus.

English Comprehension: This section shall comprise questions on Reading Comprehension: Intended to assess candidates’ ability to understand and analyze information presented in text and also to assess aspirants’ ability to apply concepts and information presented in a passage to parallel situations, in this part, candidates shall be provided one or more passages accompanied by sets of questions. Critical Reasoning: Intended to assess aspirants’ ability to analyze arguments, find underlying assumptions, discern flaws in arguments and ascertain their validity and also to assess aspirants’ ability to critically evaluate statements and situations; the questions in this part shall be based on short passages. Verbal Ability: Intended to test the candidate’s understanding of the basic rules of grammar and English usage, this section will cover Pronouns, Misplaced Modifiers, Subject-Verb agreement, Parallel Construction, Verbs, Quantifiers, Comparatives and Idiomatic Expression, Vocabulary, Synonyms and Antonyms and Sentence completion.

Quantitative Aptitude and Numerical Ability: This section is intended to assess the quantitative aptitudes of the applicants. This section intended to evaluate aspirants’ understanding and ability to apply the knowledge of basic mathematical concepts. This section will have questions pertaining to functions, algebra, coordinate system, inequalities, time, speed, distance, ratios and proportions, sets, profit and loss, simple and compound interest and elementary statistics central tendency, dispersion, probability, set theory, area, straight lines, circle, ellipse, parabola, hyberbola, theory of numbers, volumes.

Reasoning and General Intelligence: This section intends to assess aspirants’ ability and capacity to draw inferences from various givensituations and their ability to use logic and general intelligence. This section will have questions that will require aspirants to use logic to draw inferences and make effective decisions. Reasoning: Series, analogy, classification, analytical reasoning, mirror images, water images, spotting out the embedded figures, completion of incomplete pattern, figure matrix, paper folding, paper cutting, rule detection, grouping of identical figures, cubes and dice, dot situation, construction of squares and triangles, figure formation and analysis.

General knowledge: General awareness about India and world affairs, Environmental Issues, India‟s Space Program, Remote Sensing and GIS, Parliament, Policies, Sports, Literature, Science, Eminent personalities, Titles conferred, Records, Indian culture, etc

BVP MEVST / MGI 2018 Result

The University will prepare a single merit list for admission to M.Sc. Environment Science and Technology(MEVST) or M.Sc. Geoinformatics(MGI) of all the candidates who have appeared for the MEVST/MGI -2018 entrance test. The combined merit list of MEVST/MGI -2018 (Based on 100 marks) will be declared on scheduled date. Separate merit list will be prepared for Regular category and Foreign/NRI/PIO/OCI/ Institutional Quota Merit Category. The merit list shall be displayed at www.bvuniversity.edu.in and shall be displayed at the designated centre in Pune. It is not possible to send individual invitation for counselling to the candidates. It shall be the responsibility of the individual candidate to see their own merit number and appear for the counselling at the centre of his/her choice as per schedule.

BVP MEVST/MGI 2018 Counselling and Admissions

The counseling sessions will be conducted at Bharati Vidyapeeth(Deemed to be University), Institute of Environment Education and Research, Pune-Satara Road,Pune-411043 (Tel.No. 020- 24375684,24362155) http://ieer.bharatividyapeeth.edu The counselling and on the spot admissions session will be held at centers as per the following schedule.

Failure to report for counseling on the scheduled date and time may result in instantaneous cancellation of the seat.

  • The candidate must note that appearance at this examination and inclusion of name in the Merit List do not necessarily mean that he/she will get admission to the course. His/her admission will depend upon the availability of vacancies for the course at the time of his counseling.
  • At the time of reporting for the counseling, the candidate is required to produce the documents (original and two sets of photocopies) listed in Annexure II. If the candidate is admitted to the course, these documents will be retained by the University till he/she completes the course. If the candidate fails to produce all or any of the documents listed in Annexure II, he/she will instantaneously forfeit his / her claim for a seat.
  • If the candidate fails to report for the counseling on the date and the time mentioned in the schedule of counseling his claim for admission to the course will be forfeited and his seat will be allotted to the next candidate in the merit list.
  • Waiting list for candidate of each category will be prepared separately and a seat which will fall vacant before the cut off date will be offered to the next candidate in the waiting list.
  • However the seats falling vacant after cut off date will be offered to any available candidates.
  • The selected candidate will be required to pay the entire amount of annual fee and other fees immediately through Demand Draft drawn in the favour of Director, Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment Education and Research, payable at Pune. In case the candidate fails to remit the entire amount of fees, he/she is likely to loose his/her claim for admission.

BVP MEVST/MGI 2018 Documents Required

At the time of counseling, you are required to produce the following documents in original, failure to do so will result in instantaneous cancellation of your claim for admission. You are also required to submit two photocopies of each of these documents duly attested.

  • Your letter for counseling.
  • For a Proof of date of Birth: SSC Certificate or School/College Leaving Certificate.
  • Certificate of Domicile/Nationality Certificate.
  • Statement of marks of B.Sc. examination. (All three years)
  • Statement of marks of 12th std examination.
  • Transfer Certificate from the Institution in which you had studied last.
  • Migration Certificate.
  • Caste certificate and Caste Validity Certificate (in case of ST / SC candidate only.)
  • Character certificate from a responsible person.
  • Certificate of Medical Fitness.
  • Six recent passport-size photographs with your names written on reverse.
  • The amount of Tuition fees, other fees and Hostel fees in case you need an admission to Hostel.
  • Attested copies of first & last page of ration card / latest telephone bill for proof and permanent address.

BVP MEVST/MGI 2018 Seats

Annual intake of the First Year M.Sc. Environment Science and Technology course : 30

Annual intake of the First year M.Sc. Geoinformatics course : 25

Foreign / NRI / PIO / Management Merit Seats : Out of the sanctioned intake, 15% seats are reserved under Foreign / NRI /P.I.O. / OCI/ Institutional Quota Merit Category. Candidates seeking admissions to the seats under Foreign / NRI /P.I.O. / OCI/ Institutional Quota Merit category will have to apply separately on a prescribed application form. The application form will be available at the office of The Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhavan, L.B.S. Marg, Pune-30. The form fee for this category is Rs. 1,000/- (non refundable). Seats remaining vacant after allotment to Foreign / NRI / P.I.O./ OCI Students (based on Merit), will be allotted to Indian students under Institutional Quota on the basis of merit based on the marks obtained by them in “MEVST/MGI -2018”.

BVP MEVST/MGI 2018 Fee Structure

The fees prescribed per annum for First Year M.Sc. Environment Science & Technology / M.Sc. Geoinformatics admissions are as follows:

Those who are desirous of getting admission to the hostel will be required to pay the entire amount of rent as well as, the mess charges for the entire academic year at the time of admission only.

Field work charges of Rs. 21,000/- (approximately) have to be paid in addition to the fees for the first year only.

Mode of Payment of Fees shall be as given below The fee is to be paid through Bank Draft of any Nationalized bank drawn in the name of “The Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune payable at Pune”.
