The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has not postponed any exam dates of Chartered Accountancy (CA) due to COVID-19 until now. When ICAI received a lot of queries from the students concerning postponement of CA exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to put up an announcement. ICAI announced that no COVID-19 situation is being monitored and neither of the CA exam dates to be held in May 2020 has yet been revised.
ICAI Will Take Decision Regarding CA May 2020 Exams in Mid-April
ICAI will be holding the following exam in May and their dates are:
|CA Foundation 2020||11, 13, 15, 17 May 2020|
|CA Intermediate 2020||3, 5, 8, 10 May 2020 for group I|
12, 14, 16 May 2020 for group II
|CA Final 2020||02, 04, 06,& 09 May 2020 for group I|
11, 13, 15,& 17 May 2020 for group II
As it is clear that all the exams are scheduled in the first half of May 2020. The schedule might change if COVID-19 situation does not improve by then. The decision will be taken when the situation is clear. As per ICAI, a clear picture will be available in the next few day’s time only.

Special Advice to the Candidates By ICAI
In the above notice the candidates can read the last paragraph that reads the following:
“…students must be not swayed by any misleading communications spreading through internet by unscrupulous sources. Students may also note that ICAI website is the only source for the authenticity of the information and should not rely upon details circulating over social media.”

- Identify the official websites of your respective exams
- Visit the website every day thrice
- Look for latest notice on the website and only trust them

- Blindly trust any circular
- Look for information on social media and other official sources
- Forward any unverified notice / post to others
Steps Taken by ICAI Regarding COVID-19
ICAI might not have taken any decision regarding exam dates that will be held in May 2020, however, they allowed the registered candidate to make changes in their exam centers to appear or the exam. This opportunity was given to the candidates from March 21 to 23, 2020. ICAI reopened the form correction window to allow the candidates to make changes in this regard.
Apart from that ICAI have also introduced the following:

- Certain relaxation in GMCS/ITT
ICAI CA May Exams 2020
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will be holding these 3 exams for all the registered candidates at national level:
CA Foundation 2020 – It is an entry level exam for those who are interested in the chartered accountancy course in India. CA Foundation exam consist of two questions – descriptive and MCQ type. The exam will be of total 400 marks.
CA Intermediate 2020 – This is for the candidates who have passed 10+2 and CA Foundation course. Intermediate course has 2 levels that are Group I and Group II. It contains six subjects and eight papers of 100 marks each.
CA Final 2020 – The candidates who want to move to CA Final must have passed Intermediate or professional education examination. CA Foundation 2020 consists of 4 papers that the candidate has to pass. 70% of the paper consists of descriptive questions and 30% consists of multiple – choice questions.
For all the above exams, the registered candidates get admit card to appear for the exam. Now the admit card will be released in the month of May 2020 itself and will totally depend on the exam dates. That is, if the exam dates are revised due to COVID-19, the admit card download date for the CA exams might also get revised.

The whole world is put to a standstill situation due to the coronavirus pandemic. India is taking measures to fight.
