Calicut University M.Ed Admission 2020 – Calicut University has released a notification for admission to the M.Ed Regular (Two Year course) with four semesters for the Academic Year 2020 – 21 in the Dept of Education/Government College/Aided College/ University Teacher Education Centers/Un-Aided Colleges Affiliated to University of Calicut. Calicut University M.Ed Admission 2020
M.Ed programme ( 4 semesters) is designed to provide an opportunity for students to extend as well as deepen their knowledge and understanding of education, specializing in select areas, and also develop research capacities leading to specialization in either elementary education or secondary education. The candidates who have not registered through CAP will not be permitted to admission at any stage of the admission process.

Calicut University M.Ed Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed programme shall be required to have passed the following programmes with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade.
- B.Ed degree of 1 or 2 years duration recognized by University of Calicut
OR
- 4 year integrated teacher education degree programme (B. El. Ed/ B. Sc. Ed/ B. A.Ed) recognized by University of Calicut*,
*(In case of Integrated degree programmes B.Sc.Ed/B.A.Ed, aggregate marks/ grade in Education Papers alone will be considered )
A first Master’s degree is not mandatory for entry in the M.Ed programme. However, an additional weightage shall be given to candidates with post-graduate degree in Sciences/ Humanities/ Social Sciences. Relaxation in the marks will be allowed in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Socially and Educationally Backward Classes/ Persons with disabilities and other applicable categories as per the rules of State government.
Calicut University M.Ed Admission 2020 Application form
There is no online allotment for the M.Ed programme. University will forward the Rank list of online registered students to the Department/ Colleges/ University Centres. Department/ Colleges/ University Centres will conduct admissions as per the admission schedule published by the University. Candidates or representatives of the candidates are permitted to attend on the date prescribed for admission in the respective Department/ Colleges/ University Centres.
Application fees:
- For General Category candidates: Rs. 555/-
- For SC/ST: Rs. 280/-
Mode of Selection and Weightage of Marks
Criteria for selection and method of admission to Merit/ Management seats for M.Ed programmes conducted by University Department of Education/ Government/ Aided/ University Teacher Education Centers/ Self Financing Colleges affiliated to the University of Calicut shall be governed by the rules and regulations framed by the University of Calicut.
The total marks obtained for the Qualifying Examination (calculated out of 1000) shall be the basis for selection.
An additional weightage shall be given to the candidates with Post Graduate Degree (MA/ M.Sc./ M.com)in the respective area of specialization at B.Ed while preparing the rank list. The weightage shall be of 15 marks for those having a first class with distinction/ 10 marks for those having first class/ 5 marks for those having second class and 3 marks for those having a pass in the respective Post Graduate Examination. 15 marks weightage will be given to students who secured a B.Ed Degree from the University of Calicut.
Weightage of 5 marks for every year of approved teaching experience in Govt./ Aided / Recognized institutions such as Elementary Teacher Training Institute or in an Elementary/ Secondary/ Senior Secondary School subject to a maximum of 25 marks. 1-year continuous service in the corresponding scale alone will be considered. The weightage shall be given on the basis of an Experience Certificate in Form IV signed by the Headmaster/ Principal which is countersigned by an authorized Official Signatory such as the AEO/DEO/DDCE/DHSE/DVHSE etc.

University will forward the Rank list of registered students to the Department/ Colleges/University Centres. Department/ Colleges/University Centres may be permitted to conduct admissions as per the admission schedule published by the University.
Candidates or representatives may be permitted to attend on the date prescribes for admission in the respective colleges/University Centres and three days shall be given for taking admission.

- S.S.L.C/Equivalent Certificate to prove Name and Age
- B.Ed/ Other Qualifying Examination Marklist and Certificate to prove Educational Qualifications
- P.G. Marklist and Certificate to prove weightage (if any)
- Service Certificate in Form IV (duly signed by competent authority) to prove service weightage(if any)
- BPL Certificate for Forward Caste (issued by Local Self Govt.)
- Caste certificate for SC/ST candidates
- Non-Creamy Layer Certificate / Community Certificate for eligible candidates
- Disability Certificate for Physically / Visually Challenged Candidates
