University of Calicut has released notification from eligible candidates to admission in UG Programmes through an Entrance Examination for the academic year 2018-19. University of Calicut offers different courses such as BHM, BPEd (Integrated), BPEd (2years) and B.Com (Hons.) for the academic year 2018-19. Those candidates who seek admission in aforesaid Undergraduate Courses have to appear in the Entrance Examination. Interested candidates can fill their application as per the schedule mention below. For Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM)
Pass in +2 or equivalent as recognized by University of Calicut.
For BPEd (Integrated) 4 years
Pass in +2 or Pass in 2 year course in Physical Education after SSLC recognized by University of Calicut. Age limit 23 years as on 1st July of the Academic year in which admission is sought.
For BPEd (2 years)
A pass in any Bachelor Degree of this University or a Bachelor degree recognised as equivalent there to. The candidate should be below 26 years of age as on 1 st July of the Academic Year in which admission is sought. Should be physically fit for daily heavy load of exercises and should not have any physical deformity or mental disability which prevents him/her from taking part in physical activities. A medical certificate issued by a qualified medical officer to prove the above criteria should be produced at the time of admission. The candidate should undergo a selection test in written,physical fitness and game proficiency.
Admission to B.Com Honours Degree Programme shall be open only to candidates who have passed the Plus Two of the Higher Secondary Board of Kerala or Pre-Degree of any University in Kerala or that of any other University or Board of Examinations in any state recognized as equivalent to the Plus Two of the Higher Secondary Board in Kerala, with Book Keeping and Accountancy and any two of the following subjects: (1) Commerce (2) Commercial Correspondence and Commercial Geography (3) Economics (4) Life Insurance with Salesmanship (5) Banking with Secretarial Practice (6) Business Studies (7)Mathematics (8)Computer Science (9 ) Computer Application (10) Informatics Practice and (11)Management, provided they have secured marks in aggregate as follows : General Category -70% , OBC -65% , SC – 60% , and ST — 55% OR who have passed Plus Two or equivalent examination recognized by the University with other subjects under Part III Optionals subject to the restrictions regarding the marks as mentioned above.
- Those who are awaiting the results of the qualifying examination can also apply. They have to submit the copies of Marklist/Grade card to the Head/Director/ Co-ordinator, as the case may be, in order to finalize the Rank list in stipulated time.
- Candidates are permitted to submit marklist/grade card of the qualifying examination at least 45 days from the commencement of class if admission is based on marks of the entrance examination only.
CU UG 2018 Application Form
Apply online through the website www.cuonline.ac.in or from the application form page given in quick links. Firstly, candidates need to pay fees which is decided by university. Then, click on the link ‘UG/PG Entrance Registration” given under Entrance courses section. Enter challan number and Password which a candidate gets after successfully remitting the fees. Then, go ahead for completing the registration process. Candidates are advised to ensure their eligibility before online application.
- A fee of Rs. 400/- (SC/ST Rs.170/-) shall be remitted to Calicut University Fund by e-payment ((SBI online/SBI e-chalan/Friends/Akshaya e-chalan/payment gateway)
- A candidate, if eligible, may register for four seperate courses by using single registration fee. If the candidate applied for different courses, separate print out shall be send to the department concerned.
- The print out of applications along with the e-chalan receipt and self attested copies of certificates as proof of qualifications, age and community should be forwarded to the Head of the Department/Co-ordinator/Director as the case may be so as to reach on or before the date given in schedule.
The admit cards has released by the authority once the Application form process is closed. Candidates are able to download the admit cards from the official website www.cuonline.ac.in or a direct link also provided here. The online Registration I.D.No. is mandatory for downloading hall tickets for the entrance examinations. This I.D.No should also be kept and mentioned by the candidate in all future communications. Hence, the candidates are advised to keep a copy of the print out of the application also with them for reference as well as to produce the same whenever required.
The type of questions can be objective only, descriptive only or a combination of objective and descriptive questions. If it is a combination, the proportion of marks for objective and descriptive questions can be 50% each. If the entrance examination includes objective type questions alone, 1/3 marks be deducted for each wrong answer. If it includes combination of objective type and descriptive type questions or descriptive questions only no negative scores that is no deduction of marks for wrong answers.
There will be entrance examination centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam,Thrissur and Calicut University. If a student intend to appear for the entrance examination in more than one programme, he/she should opt only a single centre for all the programmes. However the centre opted by an applicant is only his/her option. But the University may allot a different Centre either due to shortage of applicants or any other reasons. Actual centre will be allotted by University of Calicut which will be the final. The exact venue, date and time of the Entrance Examination will be there in the Hall Ticket which has to be downloaded by the applicant from the University admission website.
