M.Tech. Admission in the engineering colleges of India and other colleges, universities offering Post Graduate courses in technical domain are on the basis of GATE score. The GATE Score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programmes (e.g. M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other Government agencies. The score may also be used by Public sector units for employment screening purposes.

CCMT Opening and Closing Ranks
Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./ M.Plan (CCMT) is an admission process for providing a convenient platform for the students to apply for M.Tech./M.Plan programmes, based on their GATE score. CCMT Opening and Closing Ranks show the first and last rank category wise in each of the NITs, IIITs and other institutions that took admission on basis of GATE score through CCMT.

CCMT Cutoff for the all rounds of admissions at the NITs through the CCMT have been announced for previous years. The Cutoff for CCMT is the minimum score required to be considered for admissions to the vaious M.Tech courses available at the NITS which have pooled the counselling process into a common one through the CCMT. The CCMT cutoff are parameters to check for chances of admissions. Based on the number of applicants, intake per institution, difficulty levels of the exam and such, the CCMT cutoff is vital for student to decide and plan their choice of course at the institute preferred.
