CCIFNET Entrance Exam – Central Institute of Fisheries, Nautical & Engineering Training (CIFNET) conducts Common Entrance test for admission into Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc) and Vessel Navigator Course(VNC)/ Marine Fitter Course (MFC) programs. It is managed by the Department of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry of the Government of India. The faculty in this institute is highly qualified, dedicated and experienced in their field of specialization. The motto of the institute is to transform technical manpower for the Ocean going fishing vessels. CIFNET is also responsible for developing the required technical manpower for supporting shore establishments.

Eligibility Criteria
For Bachelor of Fishery Science (Nautical Science) [B.F.Sc (N.S)]
- Pass the 10 + 2 with minimum 50% marks in alll subjects of PCB or PCM and also passed with 50% marks in English either in 10th or +2 class. Candidates those belong to SC/ST categories, they need only qualifying examination in all above mentioned subjects to apply.
- Candidate with PCM group will be directly eligible for GMDSS after BFSc(NS) degree.
Age limit: Maximum age limit is 20 years as on 1st October, respective year of admission.
For Vessel Navigator Course (VNC) & Marine Fitter Course (MFC)
- Pass in 10th Standard with 40% marks in Maths and Science separately.
Age limit:
- 15 to 20 years as on 1st August, respective year of admission .
- In case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, 5-year relaxation is given in upper age limit.
Exam Pattern
For Bachelor of Fishery Science (Nautical Science) [B.F.Sc (N.S)]: The Common Entrance Test will be of objective type, which covers the topics of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English language. For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and for every wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted.
For Vessel Navigator Course (VNC) & Marine Fitter Course (MFC): Entrance examination will be of an Objective type, which covers the topics of Maths, science subjects and English language.
