CLAT 2020 Analysis
CLAT stands for Common Law Admissions Test which is an all India entrance examination conducted by the National Law Schools/Universities for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M). As we are getting the analysis if CLAT 2020, we are adding it here.
- The paper was moderate.
- 1 question in the exam was from recent Nepal – India dispute.
- 1 question was on the new education policy (NEP).
- Questions were also asked from the Atmanirbhar package.
- In legal, a question was asked on the Vizag gas leak tragedy.
- For the top 3 NLUs under CLAT 2020 that are NALSA, NLSUI, and NUJS that cutoff expected is 85 to 87
- For the top 10 NLUs under CLAT 2020 the expected cutoff is 80 to 82.
- For at least anyone NLU it should be 73 to 75.

CLAT 2020 Answer Key
The answer key for CLAT 2020 will release on the same day of the entrance exam once it is over. Candidates will be able to submit objections in the answer key till September 29, 2020. You can use the provisional answer key to cross-check your answers and calculate your probable score. If the option marked in the provisional answer key is not correct, then you can submit an objection against it along with proof and a fee. If any objections are accepted, the changes will be done and a final answer key will be released.
CLAT 2020 Exam Pattern
The exam pattern followed for CLAT 2020 is as follows:
- Mode of the exam – It is being conducted in computer-based mode.
- Exam duration – Candidate have a total of 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours to complete the test.
- Type of questions – Students have to solve MCQ type questions in the test.
- Marking scheme – For each correct answer, 1 marks are given, and 0.25 marks are deducted for an incorrect answer.
CLAT Previous Year Analysis
Last year, CLAT was conducted by NLU Cuttack on May 26. Many students heaved a sigh of relief as there were no major surprises in the paper. English including Comprehension – This section was easy and the number of attempted events were expected to 34+. The topic-wise distribution of the questions for this section were as follows:

General Knowledge/Current Affairs – This section was of Moderate-difficult in terms of the difficulty level. The number of recommended attempts for this section were 38+. Most of the questions asked in this section were from topics like Science & Technology, Books/Authors, Polity, History, Sports, Awards, Economy and Government Policies, Economics, etc.
Logical Reasoning – The questions in this section were broadly from the topics like Syllogisms, Critical Reasoning, Puzzles, Circular Arrangement, Blood Relationship, Direction sense, Coding-decoding, Number Series, Letter Series, Alpha-numeric Series, Distribution, Ranking, etc. The overall difficulty level of this section was Easy. One of the question in this section had two correct answer choices which might have taken up a lot of time by the candidates to figure out the problem.
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) – This section was Easy-moderate difficulty level. The questions were mainly from Calendars, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Mensuration, Simple Equations, Clocks, Venn Diagrams, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Numbers, SI-CI etc. Also, there was one typo in one of the questions.
About CLAT 2020
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted by the Consortium of NLUs. It is a national level entrance examination. CLAT is conducted for admission into courses like LLB, LLM, and other law courses. It is an online computer-based examination. The duration of the test is 2 hours. After qualifying CLAT, the candidates can take admission in UG or PG law courses at participating NLUs.
