How is CMAT 2020 Merit Rank Allotted?
It is simple and needs no explanation. The higher the score of CMAT 2020, the higher is the allocated rank. However, if 2 or more candidates get the same marks in the exam, then how is CMAT 2020 rank allocated? this is what needs an explanation.
For this, NTA has used the the below tie-breaking policy:
- Better rank is given to the candidate who scores more marks in order of first in quantitative techniques and data interpretation, then in logical reasoning, then language comprehension, and finally in general awareness.
If the tie still is there, then
- One with lesser negative responses gets a higher rank.
- And then candidates older in age get better rank.
CMAT Merit List 2020 and Scorecard – Which is Used for Admission?
The scorecard of CMAT 2020 is also available under the individual logins of the candidates on cmat.nta.nic.in. To download the scorecard of CMAT, candidates have to use their application number and password /date of birth.
One thing that is to be understood is that both the merit list and the scorecard has the same data. That is NTA score and raw marks in each section and the overall CMAT paper. Then what is the difference?
The difference is just one. The merit list is for reference for all and gives a picture of marks and ranks of the appearing candidates in the exam at a glance. The scorecard is a personalised statement of marks that has personal information of the candidates along with the marks and NTAscore.
At the time of admission: The scorecard of CMAT 2020 is used by institutes as proof and not the merit list.
