Qualification : The candidates seeking admission into Ph.D (Horticulture) course should have secured a minimum OGPA of 6.50/10.00 in M.Sc.(Horticulture) from ICAR Accreditated Universitites where as candidates seeking admission into Master’s Degree in Horticulture must have passed the relevant Bachelor’s Degree i.e, B.Sc. (Hort.) / B.Sc. (Hons.) Hortilculture and have secured minimum OGPA of 5.50/10.00.
Age : The upper age limit is 40 years.
The candidates who are willing to apply for the exam will be able to fill application form to register their name. The candidates need to visit the official website of the university to know in detail. As the application form for the last year was available in offline mode. M.Sc.(Horticulture) : The selection will be based on the academic record for B.Sc.(Hort.) – (50%) and performance in Entrance test (50%) for General and OBC candidates. The candidates who secures 50% or more will be eligible for interview / counselling which is relaxable in case of SC/ST candidates to the extent of seats reserved for them.The entrance test will be objective type for 200 marks, covering all relevant subjects at Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture of this University.
Ph.D. (Horticulture): The Selection will be based on academic record for M.Sc.(Hort.) (M.Sc.(Hort.) – 30%, B.Sc(Hort.) – 20%, and performance in Entrance Test (50%) for General & OBC candidates without Interview are eligible for counseling. which is relaxable in case of SC/ST candidates to the extent of seats reserved for them. The entrance test will be objective type for 200 marks in the core and non-core courses of major departments only.
(I) For M.Sc.(Hort.) Programmes
A total of 48 seats (36 with stipend & 12 without stipend) with specialization in Fruit Science-9 (7+2), Vegetable Science-11(9+2), Floriculture and Landscape Architecture-8(6+2),Spices, Plantations, Medicinal and Aromatic Crops6(4+2), Post Harvest Technology-6 (4+2), Horticultural Plant Pathology- 4(3+1) and Horticultural Entomology-4(3+1).
A total of 4 seats (without stipend and with higher tution fee) in the following departments. M.Sc.(Hort.) with specialization in Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, Plantation, Spices, Medicinal & Aromatic Crops, Post Harvest Technology ,Horticultural Entomology and Horticultural Plant Pathology is also available for out of state quota. (II) For Ph.D. (Hort.) Programmes
A total of 12 Seats (6 with stipend and 6 without stipend) with specializtion in Fruit Science-4(2+2), Vegetable Science-4(2+2), Floriculture and Landscape Architecture-2(1+1) and Plantation, Spices, Medicinal and Aromatic Crops -2(1+1). Out of 12 seats 6 seats with stipend and 6 six without stipend and one (1) extra seat is alloted to University toppers in M.Sc.(Hort.) Programme (Inspire fellow) from outside state universities over and above regular seats.
