GATE 2019

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is the gateway to IITs for the candidates aspiring for a master’s degree in Engineering/technology and Architecture. IIT Madras will be conducting GATE this year in the month of February 2019. The examination is taken by lakhs of people from in various test centers. GATE 2019 exam dates: The examination dates for GATE 2019 has been released by the conducting body it takes place mainly on weekends and as there are many subjects under GATE cover them all there need to be multiple dates. Candidates are therefore suggested to look properly for the date of their subject and appear for the same.

GATE 2019 exam shift: The examination taking place on various dates are further divided into two shifts that are forenoon from 9:30 am-12:30 pm and afternoon from 2:30 pm- 5::30 pm. The main reason behind the division of shifts is the number of candidates, there are a huge number of candidates who take up GATE examination every year, it is not possible for the institution to give them all examination at the same time hence they divide the examination into two sessions.

Multiple GATE 2019 Dates

There are many papers in GATE that occur in both the shifts of the scheduled date. The number of application decides the shifts the paper is to be given in sometimes due to a very large number of application the examination are to be taken in more than one shifts. Some of the papers that are under this category are Mechanical (ME), Civil (CE), Electrical (EE) it is not necessary that only these paper are under this category it can change according to the application.

Admit Card

The admit card for GATE is to be released tentatively from January 04, 2019. It will be available on the GOAPS website only. The admit card being on of the most important identification proof of the candidate, hence candidates must download their admit card and check it fro proper photograph and signature of the candidate. In any case, if the photograph or signature is not clear the admit card will not be considered as valid.

Important Details

The candidates taking GATE examination this year should know that there are 24 subjects for which the examination will be conducted. Separate subject codes are assigned to each of these subjects for the ease of candidates. Until last year there were only 23 subjects for which the examination was conducted, with the introduction of Statistics the subjects are increased to 24 this year. There are many important details regarding the GATE 2019 examination to be known by the candidates that are listed below.

  • Each candidate can fill only one subject for the examination.
  • The paper to be chosen will  be a choice of the candidate themselves.
  • The subject code of the choice made y the candidate should be known by the candidate as it is essential for them.
  • Admission form once submitted can not be rectified by the candidate.
  • candidates who are not sure about the syllabus for GATE 2019 can get the syllabus subject wise from the website of GATE 2019
  • The application form will be checked by the administration for data accuracy the application with defects will be marked and sent to the candidates for correction.

About GATE

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering widely known as GATE is an examination for all the candidates who are aspiring for a master degree in engineering/technology/architecture. The GATE is conducted jointly by the IISc Bangalore and the seven IITs. This year IIT Madras is going to conduct the GATE examination. This examination is mainly a gateway to the IITs for master programmes other than that many PSUs ( public sector undertakings ) uses GATE score card for employment. The score card generated after taking the examination is valid for 3 years from the day it has been generated. The GATE examination is the only computer based also know as CBT(computer based test). The important information regard examination dates are given further below. There are a total of 24 subjects for which GATE 2019 will be conducted the proper examination schedule with the subject code and the session of the examination for each subject will be given in detail. The detail schedule for the same will be released a few weeks after the release of admit card or a few weeks before the examination date.
