The cutoff for GATE is determined after considering the following given factors.
- Firstly, the difficulty level of exam is considered
- Then, the number of candidates appeared for the exam is taken into consideration
- Total number of candidates registered for the exam is also taken into account
- Then, the availability of seats according to each course and college is analyzed
- Lastly, the category in which admission has to be taken is considered
