GATE 2021 Exam Centres
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2021 will be held across 201 exam cities. The candidate can choose 4 cities from the list of examination cities. Each city has numerous exam centers for allotment to the candidates to take the exam. Candidates can only select the exam city preference while applying, the allotment of center is done via the GATE 2021 admit card.

Will I Be Allotted the same Centre for both GATE 2021 Papers?
The examination center for candidates to appear for the second paper may be different, but in the same city, from that for the first paper due to the infrastructure and scheduling constraints.
Howto Request Change for GATE 2021 Exam Centre?
The candidates are allowed to change the exam city of GATE 2021, even after the application form is submitted. The exam city chnage can be requested in the application form correction period that opens fro a limited period of time. This year the application form correction shall open as per the schedule below:

How to Change GATE 2021 Exam City?
The candidates can check the steps below to change the GATE 2021 exam city:
Step 1: Click on the link given above. The link will be redirected to the GOAPS portal.
Step 2: Next, in the login window, enter the enrollment id / email address and password.
Step 3: After entering the details, the dashboard will open. Next, in the dashboard, click on the button ‘change applicant details’.
Step 4: After following the step mentioned above, the submitted GATE 2021 application form will open. Next, edit the details in the form and click on the ‘submit changes’ button to save the edited details.
Why should I choose 4 examination cities?
The candidates are most likely to be allotted a center in the examination city of their first choice. Only in cases, where there are too many candidates opting for a certain city as their first choice, the other three choices become relevant.
The candidates are required to fill their choices of cities to appear in the examination but should remember that because of operational constraints, the GATE committee reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing one and allot a city that may not be any of the choices of a candidate. For candidates opting for international centers, there will be only one choice (by default).
How Do I Know Which GATE 2021 Exam Centre has been Allotted to Me?
The allotment of exam centre is den via the admit card of GATE 2021. The candidates can download GATE 2021 admit card from the GOAPS website. To download GATE 2021 admit card, the candidates need to enter the application number and password. The admit card consists of important details like exam date, exam timing, date of the exam, reporting time, address of the exam centre, etc. It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the exam centre on the day of the examination.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted by IITs and IISc Bangalore on a rotational basis. It is conducted annually. It is held at the All India level for admission into courses like M.Tech / M.E. / M.Arch / Ph.D. GATE is a computer-based test. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. It is conducted for 27 subject papers. It consists of 65 questions. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions and numerical answer type and / or multiple select types of questions. There is negative marking for MCQs in case of wrong answers. On the other hand, there is no negative marking for numerical-answer type questions.
