GMCH Chandigarh Admission 2018

Candidates desirous of applying for more than one course were not required to submit the separate application form. The candidates shall be admitted, as per their preference of discipline if available at the time of counselling, in order of their rank in the GCET-2018. Admission to these courses is strictly on the basis of rank/merit obtained in GMCH Combined Entrance Test (GCET-2018) which was conducted by Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh. GMCH 2018 Eligibility Criteria

(A) B.Sc. Medical Lab Technology Course (3 years Course) 

Candidates who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology degree course:

  • A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who has passed 10+2 vocational course (Medical Laboratory Technology) in their respective elective subjects & English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who has passed Part–I of B.Sc. medical with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates from any institution recognized by Panjab University.
  • A person holding qualification of 3 yrs. Diploma in MLT (equivalent to 10+2) & must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates, from any recognized Board/Council/University, shall also be eligible.

(B) B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray) Course (3 years Course)

Candidates who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-RAY) degree course:

  • A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who passed 10+2 vocational course (X-Ray Techniques) in all the vocational course subjects of Radiation Physics, Radiography-I General, Radiography-II Special, Biology & English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc Medical with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates from any institution recognized by Panjab University.
  • A person holding qualification of diploma in Radiography/X-ray Techniques must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 examination with Science (physics, chemistry and biology) subjects.

(C) B.Sc. Medical Technology (Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Techniques) Course (3 years Course)

Candidates who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Medical Technology (Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre) degree course:

  • A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc. medical with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates from any institution recognized by Panjab University.
  • A person holding qualification of diploma Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Techniques (2 or 3 years) must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 exam with science (physics, chemistry & biology).

(D) B.Optom. (4 years Course)

Candidates who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in Bachelor of Clinical Optometry (B.Optom.) degree course:

  • A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • A person who has passed 10+2 Vocational Course (Ophthalmic Technique) in their respective elective subjects and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by recognized Board/Council / University.
  • A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc medical with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates from any institution recognized by Panjab University.
  • A person holding qualification of diploma in Ophthalmic Techniques (2 or 3 years) must have obtained with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 exam with science (physics, chemistry & biology).

(E) B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (4 years)

Candidates who possess one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission in B.Sc. Nursing degree course:

  • A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
  • Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School will also be eligible provided they secure aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates.

Note: All admissions to B.Sc Nursing course shall be provisional and subject to the approval of Panjab University, Punjab Nurses Registration Council and Indian Nursing Council.

Age Limit: Minimum 17 years as on 31.12.2018

Scheme of Examination

  • The medium of GCET-2018 will be English only.
  • Paper will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Each question will carry 1 (one) mark (maximum marks 100)
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • For all the courses, the duration of the entrance test will be of two hours.
  • The minimum qualifying marks in GCET-2018 for inclusion in the list of successful candidates are as below:
    • General category: not less than 45%
    • SC category: not less than 40%

(A) For 10+2 (Medical Group i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Biology) passed candidate for all courses

Syllabus will be of 10+2 standard equivalent to AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE

  • Biology – 50 Questions
  • Physics – 25 Questions
  • Chemistry – 25 Questions

(B) For 10+2 (vocational stream) passed candidates & diploma in respective discipline

B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology)

  • Anatomy and Physiology – 30 questions
  • Biology & Chemistry – 35 questions
  • Lab Techniques – 35 questions
    (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Hematology & Histopathology)

B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray)

  • Anatomy and Physiology – 30 questions
  • Radiation Physics & Biology – 35 questions
  • Radiographic Techniques – 35 questions

B.Optom.

  • Biology-Ophthalmic – 30 questions
  • Optics – 35 questions
  • Ophthalmic Techniques – 35 questions

Venue of Entrance Examination: The venue of entrance test will be intimated on the admit card.

Selection Process

The selection will be made on the basis of rank/merit obtained in the GMCH Combined Entrance Test-2018 (GCET-2018) to be conducted by Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh. There are no marks for counseling.

GMCH 2018 Admission Process

The selected candidates had to undergo a medical examination by the constituted Medical Board on the same day or succeeding day of counseling. Candidates found medically fit were granted admission.

The candidates who do not appear before the Medical Board or are found medically unfit shall not be allowed to join the course.

Fees are to be paid on the day of medical examination after candidate is found medically fit. The candidature of the eligible candidates, who do not deposit the prescribed fees in full, shall stand automatically cancelled and vacancies so caused shall be offered to the candidates in the subsequent counseling. No correspondence or appeal in this connection will be entertained by the Admission Committee.

Admissions shall be made strictly in accordance with the rules / criteria mentioned in this brochure. However, in all matters which need interpretation or for which no provision exists in the brochure, the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final. No correspondence will be entertained regarding rejection or disqualification of any candidate.

The original certificates of the selected candidates will be retained by the college. The original certificates of the selected candidates shall be returned only if the seat is surrendered in writing by the candidate.

In case the information furnished or certificates/documents submitted by the candidate are found to be fake or is found to have withheld or concealed information in the application form, his/her admission shall stand cancelled and the fee deposited shall be forfeited. In addition he/she may also face legal action under the law of the land.

All admissions shall be provisional and subject to the approval of concerned regulatory bodies

All legal disputes relating to admission of students will be subject to courts have jurisdiction in Chandigarh.

      There is chance of yours but many factors are considered while making admission. Higher the marks higher the chances.
