The graduate record examination is the most critical assessment to get admission into the world’s most prestigious and sought after colleges to attain higher education – the GRE examination is conducted all across the year and a student can enroll into a center nearby to give the examination and subject to the applicants received, the student will hear back with the date of examination and timing for the same.

GRE Eligibility 2016
The eligibility for GRE has not been prescribed such; there aren’t any strict limitations of age, qualification or country. It is however compulsory for a student to have completed under graduation to take GRE as it’s a test for Post Graduation and Masters level, to be pursued abroad.
A student has to fill GRE eligibility criteria form and while GRE itself does not impose any restrictions apart from bare minimum qualification of UG, the institutions to which you’re applying or taking GRE for may have such restrictions of admission criteria and hence you need to take GRE in accordance to the university that you’re applying to – make sure that you read the norms of admission carefully on the university website of your preference.
Different institutions have different GRE acceptance criteria, some premier institutions may only accept students with high GRE scores while some may accept students with average GRE scores with good MS.
Where is GRE conducted?
The GRE is conducted by ETS, at around 700 centers across 160 countries. In India, GRE is available to be taken up as computer based examination administered by Prometric centers.
The GRE does not has any age limit or caste/religion hindrance which makes it easy for all pursuant to take up the test and go about it in an organic manner as there are no merits and the candidates with the highest marks get preference in admission to foreign institutions.
The computer based GRE examination can be taken every 21 days and upto 5 times in a calendar year. This includes those tests in which the score was cancelled by the candidate (these are scores that the candidate cancels even without viewing but the score is still available for upto 60 days with a fees of $30).
How do I apply for GRE?
In order to apply for GRE examination, you need to first create an account on GRE website (ensure that you register with the name on your ID proof).
Log in to your my GRe account and click “register for the General Test”. The subsequent step will take you to availability of dates and centers which you need to select as per your preference.
Pay US $185 online using American Express, MasterCard or a Visa credit card.
In the next few days, you’ll be confirmed of your appearance for the test along with your prescribd examination center.
