HORTICET 2020 Counselling/Allotment List
Counselling begins after the successful declaration of results. Those candidates is eligible for counselling, whose name is mentioned in the merit list. Candidates who qualify the exam is notified by the authorities to attend the counselling with the documents. In counselling process, allotment of seats is taken place after the verification of original documents. There is several rounds of counselling till the seats are fully filled by the aspirants. HORTICET 2020 Syllabus

HORTICET 2020 Eligibility
Before the submission of application form for HORTICET 2020, candidates must carefully read and understand the eligibility criteria for appearing in HORTICET 2020. Eligibility criteria for exam are formulated by Dr. YSRHU. Following are the important eligibility criteria points to be understood:
- Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India
- Minimum Age: Candidate must turn 17 years before or on 31st December of the year of admission
- Maximum Age Limit: For candidates belonging to General or Other Backward Class (OBC), maximum permissible age to appear for HORTICET 2020 is 22 years. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories, maximum age limit has been relaxed to 25 years as per government norms. Furthermore, for physically handicapped candidates, upper age limit has been further relaxed till 27 years as per government norms
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have necessarily passed Diploma in Horticulture course from Dr. YSRHU. Also, candidates who will be completing their Diploma in academic year 2018-19, are eligible to apply for HORTICET 2020. However, candidate will have to submit his/her Final Memorandum of Marks-cum-Pass Certificate of Diploma in Horticulture during counselling process
HORTICET 2020 Application Form
A notification will be issued by Dr. YSRHU for submission of application form. Candidates will have to submit an application form through offline mode only. Candidates will have to take a print out of application form, subsequent to downloading it. Application form should be filled with accurate and correct information. Once submitted, candidates will not be allowed to make any changes in application form. Following are the steps to submit application form:
- Visit the official website of the University
- Log onto the website with your registered email id.
- Download the pdf by tapping ‘Download Application Form’ link.
- Fill the application form correctly.
- Lastly, send the application form along with the documents needed at the prescribed address
Note: It is mandatory to fill in application and registration form and check twice before submission as there is no separate correction window provided.

HORTICET 2020 Admit Card/Hall ticket
Candidates will be sent hall ticket by post on the correspondence address mentioned in the application form in a stamped envelope along with the application form. However, candidates can download their admit cards by logging onto the registered ID given at the time of registration on the official website as the admit card will be released in the official website as well. The list of eligible candidates along with the Hall Ticket numbers are displayed on the University website. Those candidates who have not received the Hall tickets can download the Hall Ticket from the University website and attend the HORTICET 2020 test.
HORTICET 2020 Test centre
HORTICET 2020 doesn’t have multiple examination centers like other competitive exam. Candidates who are willing to take the exam would have to take it on the campus of the DR. Y.S.R University as it is the only center for the exam as per the official notification.
HORTICET 2020 Result
Result for HORTICET 2020 is likely to be declared by the University on its official website. However, Dr. YSRHU has not yet given any official notification of declaration of result. Result will be declared in the form of both score card and merit list, prepared solely on the basis of marks secured in HORTICET 2020. For the preparation of merit list in case of more than one student securing the same marks is found then there will be the tie-breaking system resolved by considering the following options:
- Marks secured in the qualifying examination i.e., Diploma in Horticulture course and by calculating its aggregate percentage
- Another option, is by Date of Birth which is to be considered if its still persist, however the elder one shall be given preference
HORTICET 2020 Seats and Reservations
Seats
The criteria for concerned undergraduate course is:
Total No. of seats allotted to diploma holders is 15% of seats of B.Sc (Hons.) Horticulture: i.e., 83 seats {47 (Uni. College seats) + 36 (Pvt. College Seats) & 09 EWS quota seats (05 Uni. College seats) + 04 (Pvt. College seats)} Total =92 seats (Uni. College seats + Pvt. College seats)
Reservation
The University will follow reservation rules established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. As per the rules, 85% seats will be allotted to candidates from Andhra Pradesh, while the remaining 15% will be allotted to candidates from outside Andhra Pradesh.
Important Instructions for the candidates of HORTICET 2020
Given below are the points which candidates should keep in mind:
- Duplicate Hall Tickets shall be presented to the supervised Officer at the Entrance Test Centre. Candidate can get a duplicate hall ticket by showing their ID card as a proof as well
- Candidates will not be offered any of the traveling expenses they need to make it by themselves
- Violation of any rules in examination hall shall render in cancellation of their answer scripts. The decision will be completely taken by the Convener of the Entrance Test Centre and that decision will be the final decision
- The candidates won’t be allowed in the examination hall after the bell timings. Moreover, the candidates will not be allowed to leave the hall post half an hour of the examination starts
- Blue/Black pen is only allowed in the examination hall to write your examination

Horticultural University, formerly Andhra Pradesh Horticultural University is a state university located at Venkataramannagudem, near Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 2007 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and focuses on education and research of horticultural science, as well as some educational programmes which were offered under Acharya N.
