HPU Post Basic B.Sc Nursing 2020 Tie-Breaker
There are chances that two or more than two candidates score same marks in the entrance exam. In such a case, to decide the merit of the candidate, the tie-breaker method is used. The merit in this situation is decided by resolving the tie based on the marks obtained by the candidate in order of the Subject-wise Sections of the entrance test. The sequence is as follows.
- Fundamentals of Nursing,
- Medical surgical Nursing,
- Psychiatric Nursing,
- Pediatrics Nursing,
- Midwifery & Gynecology and
- Community Health Nursing.
Even if, the tie still persist after following the above procedure, then the candidate older in age shall be given preference.
HPU Post Basic B.Sc Nursing 2020 Merit List
The candidates are called for the counselling round based on their merit. After the release of the result, a merit list is prepared based on the candidate’s marks in the entrance test. Those whose name is there in the list are the qualifiers of the exam. HPU releases the merit list on the official website as well as on the notice board of the university.
Candidate shall not live in an impression that assigning of the rank in the merit list confers any right for admission. The final selection or admission is made after the candidate’s verification of eligibility is done by checking the original certificates/documents and subject to availability of seat(s) in the concerned quota/category at the time of counselling. In any case, if the candidate is found ineligible then her candidature is cancelled.
HPU Post Basic B.Sc Nursing 2020 Counselling
The counselling is conducted by a committee constituted by the Director of Medical Education & Research Himachal Pradesh. Selected candidates shall attend the counselling as per the schedule. It is held in H.P University, Shimla. There are no separate calls or letters sent to the candidates for attending the counselling. Candidates shall check the merit list and make themselves present in the counselling round.
On the day of counselling, the candidate must bring the counselling-cum-admission-form along with the original and photocopies of all the required documents and the expected counselling fee of Rs 100/-. The counselling is conducted in two (2) rounds and admission are given to the candidates as per the availability of seats and fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
The following is the list of documents that a candidate shall carry in original as well as in photocopy format on the day of counselling.
- Print out of the Post-basic application form.
- Domicile certificate
- Reservation certificate, if applying in any category other than general category.
- Service certificate-cum-NOC
- General Nursing and Midwifery Diploma.
- Registration Certificate from H.P. State Nurses Registration Council, Shimla.
- 10+2 certificate and marksheet
- Matriculation certificate
- Certificate of being children of H.P. Govt. Employees and Employees of Autonomous Bodies.

About HPU Post Basic B.Sc Nursing 2020
Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) conducts an entrance exam for admitting candidates in Post Basic B.Sc Nursing course. The duration of the course is two (2) years and only female candidates are eligible to apply. The degree course is affiliated to H.P. University, Shimla. To apply, an application form has to be filled by the candidates. In the entrance exam, candidates have to solve 150 multiple choice questions of one (1) mark each in 120 minutes. The admission is given to the candidates based on the marks in the entrance test.
