What is the Difference in JEE Main Syllabus and JEE Advanced Syllabus?
Most of the students think that the syllabus of JEE Main and Advanced is the same as prescribed by CBSE. However, this is not entirely true. Few differences in the syllabus for both the exams is as follows:
- JEE Main aims to check the speed, accuracy and clarity of basic concepts. Whereas, JEE Advanced challenges the basics and check the depth of knowledge.
- JEE Main syllabus is prescribed by NTA, on NCERT guidelines. JEE Advanced syllabus on the other hand is prescribed by IITs.

Joint Engineering Entrance Advanced is a national level exam. JEE Advanced 2020 is going to conduct by the IIT Delhi on May 17, 2020. Based on score, candidates can get admission in UG engineering admission across 23 IITs. This time, the top 2.5 lakh qualifiers of JEE Main 2020 will be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced 2020 exam. 10+2 candidates with more than 75% marks (or among top 20 percentilers), fulfilling the eligibility criteria, may apply online on the official website.
