IIT JAM 2019 – IIT Kharagpur has released admission form for IIT JAM 2019 from April 11, 2019. The scorecard and result of IIT JAM 2019 have been released at jam.iitkgp.ac.in. The Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2019 has been held on February 10, 2019. IIT Kharagpur had started the online facility for submitting the objection in the JAM 2019 Answer Key till February 28. JAM is a national level entrance exam held for admission in MSc, Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD dual degree at IITs and Integrated Ph.D. at IISC. JAM 2019 Admission
Applicants can apply for Admission based on JAM 2019 only through the online application process at JAM 2019 website, joaps.iitkgp.ac.in from April 11, 2019. The application fee for the admission is Rs. 600/- for all applicants and is non-refundable. Applicants can use their Enrollment ID and password for logging into joaps.iitkgp.ac.in and view their scores. If they are qualified, they can start applying for admission by choosing ” Admission Form Filling”.

The candidate needs to have the following documents, in PDF form, ready before starting the online application:
A. Mandatory Documents for All:

- Qualifying Degree: Mark sheets of all semesters/ years
B. Document for General Category:
i. Nationality Certificate: Birth Certificate or Voter ID or First page of Passport or School Transfer Certificate (TC) showing nationality or Nationality Certificate issued by the authorized government agency or Aadhar Card.
(Please note that any other documents, Ration Card, Driving License, College/ Institute/ School ID, Bank Passbook, PAN Card, Mark sheets are not considered as Nationality Certificate).

(a) Candidate should note that mere qualifying or being in the merit list of any test paper neither guarantee nor provide automatic entitlement to admission. It would be based on the order of merit and available seats as well as meeting the ER and MEQ of the programme in the concerned institute. The fulfillment of ER & MEQ is decided by the department offering the programme and the prerogative to accept/reject the candidate remains with the department.
(b) The application form for admission will not be considered if the fee is not paid successfully on or before 25th April 2019. No further intimation regarding the rejection of application form for admission will be sent to the candidate in this regard.
(c) IISER Pune and Bhopal may also admit candidates through qualified JAM 2019 scores.

JAM 2019 Result
Declaration of JAM 2019 Result is as per schedule, in online mode. Candidates who appear in Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) obtain an All India Rank (AIR) for each test paper that they appear in. Wherever there is a tie, candidate with a higher ratio of positive to negative marks gets a higher rank. if tie persists then both or more candidates get the same rank. - Date of declaration of JAM 2019 Result by IIT KGP is March 18, 2019.
- Availability of scorecard of IIT JAM 2019 for qualified candidates will be from April 05, 2019, to July 31, 2019.
- Result is announced at JOAPS at jam.iitkgp.ac.in.
- There is a separate merit list for every test paper.
- Number of candidates in merit list of a JAM paper is equal to total number of seats in each category in that subject.
Admission Process Through JAM 2019
Qualified candidates can apply for one or more academic program by filling Admission Form that becomes available at JAM website. They should check Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) first. Admission form is also made available at JOAPS at jam.iitkgp.ac.in only. Dates to fill admission form are from April 11, 2019, to April 25, 2019.
IIT JAM 2019 Answer Key
Organising Institute issues IIT JAM 2019 question paper and answer key of Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), Physics (PH). Candidates can obtain them from the official website in PDF format. Using it, they can know the correct answers of all questions asked in the exam and also predict their result by calculating marks.
IIT JAM 2019 Candidate Response Sheet
Candidates can check their response sheets of JAM 2019 from JOAPS as per schedule. They have to login using enrolment ID and password to do it. Upon logging in, answers marked by them, in all 60 questions, displays on the screen. Candidates can check them all and note them so that they can match them with answer keys.
JAM 2019 Admission List
Seats allottmen is on basis of preference order of candidate as in admission form, and merit as per IIT JAM 2019 Result. Date of release of First Admission List is June 03, 2019. Those who get a seat as per first admission list get an acceptance form from institute. They have to pay advance seat booking fee (Rs 10000 for general / OBC, Rs 5000 for SC / ST / PwD) online through JOAPS, as per schedule intimated in offer letter. If seats remain vacant, then there will be a Second Admission List on June 18, 2019, and Third Admission List on July 01, 2019.
Highlights of IIT JAM 2019
- JAM is an online computer based test.
- There are 7 test papers with multiple choice questions (MCQs), multiple select questions (MSQs), numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
- Candidates can appear in either 1 or 2 papers. Ensure that 2 test papers opted for do not fall in same session.
- Candidates must qualify relevant test paper and also satisfy minimum educational qualification (MEQs), eligibility requirements (ERs).
- There will not be any additional requirements such as suitability test or interview for admission through JAM.
JAM 2019 Admit Card
It is compulsory to carry JAM 2019 admit card and a valid photo identity proof in original to exam hall. The admit card is only released online, hence, candidates must download it from JOAPS at jam.iitkgp.ac.in as per schedule. The link to access it is given above. To access the login, enrollment number / e-mail id and password. Important aspects of IIT JAM 2019 admit card are as follows.
- JAM 2019 admit card contains name, registration number, photograph, signature, names and codes of test paper, name and address of test centre.
- It is made available for download at JOAPS only.
- No candidate receives admit card / hall ticket by post.
- Candidates should download and check that details in admit card of JAM 2019 are correct. If there is any issue, it should be conveyed to Organizing Chairperson, JAM 2019, IIT Kharagpur immediately.
- In the event that candidate cannot download admit card, then he/she should contact Chairperson JAM of that IIT or IISc under which his first choice of test city falls.
- It is necessary to preserve JAM 2019 admit card until end of admission process.
IIT JAM Exam Pattern 2019
Joint Admission Test for M.Sc is conducted as an online computer based test for all 7 papers. In a computer based test, candidates get questions in a random sequence on computer screens. They must mark answers on computer only. Duration of exam is 3 hours for every paper. Candidates may note that all questions will be in English language only. In JAM exam, there are 60 questions of 100 marks. Paper has 3 sections namely A, B, C. All are compulsory. Types of questions in each section are as per details below.

IIT JAM 2019 Registration
Candidates who wish to pursue post-bachelor programs at IITs and IISc had to do IIT JAM 2019 Registration. The application process for JAM has ended and was in online mode. Few important points regarding JAM 2019 application form are as follows:
- Registration is important for form filling is at JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS).
- Link of official website for JOAPS 2019 is jam.iitkgp.ac.in.
- Candidates can fill Registration of JAM 2019 at JOAPS from September 5, 2018.
- Last date to submit Registration is October 10, 2018.
- First, one has to register by filling name, e-mail id, mobile number, and password.
- Once registration is successful, registrant gets email and SMS containing Enrolment ID.
- Photograph, signature, documents such as category certificate, PWD certificate have to uploaded in IIT JAM Registration 2019.
- Fee payment is in online mode.
An important step in submission of form is payment of fee. Candidates must pay fee as per category / gender. Fee amount applicable to different applicants are in table below.

Photograph and Signature Specifications
Photograph taken in studio should be of 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm in print. JPEG image should be at max 480 x 640 pixels, and minimum size can be 240 x 320 pixels. Background of image should be white or very light color. File size of image shall be between 5-200 kb.
Signature should be done in black or blue pen within a 2 cm x 7 cm box. JPEG image should be at max 160 x 560 pixels, and minimum size can be 80 x 280 pixels. File size of image shall be between 5-100 kb.
Check Application Status
Those who have applied for IIT JAM 2019 can check application status at JOAPS. Status shows whether form is “received”, “under scrutiny”, “accepted”, “defect status”, “status after rectification”, “rejected with valid reasons”.
JAM 2019 Application Form Correction
Candidates must submit correct and verifiable details only in IIT JAM 2019 Registration. All data in form should match with official documents. If at any stage ineligibility is detected then candidature may be cancelled.
Additional Fee For Addition Or Change Of Test Paper
Those who wish to add or remove IIT JAM 2019 test papers in which they wish to appear, have to pay additional fee as follows in online mode. Make this change before last date of form submission.
Additional Fee For Changing Category or Gender
If candidate has entered incorrect category or gender, then they can rectify it paying requisite additional fee as follows. Fee has to be paid via DD in favor of “JAM 2019” payable at Kharagpur. It should reach The Chairperson, JAM-2019, GATE-JAM Office, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur-721302, on or before October 30, 2018.
IIT JAM Eligibility 2019
Candidates must fulfill eligibility requirement of IIT JAM. Only then they will be considered for admission. Requirements are as follows.
- Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) is open for Indians, Foreigners both.
- Candidate should have a Bachelors degree.
- General / OBC candidate should have scored at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 in aggregate marks or CGPA / CPI without rounding off (all subjects including language and subsidiaries of all years combined). SC / ST / PwD candidates should have a minimum score of 50% or 5.0 out of 10.
- If CGPA / CPI is on a different scale, then qualifying exam marks will be calculated by mapping it linearly on a scale of 10.

IIT JAM 2019 Exam Centres
IIT Kharagpur is conducting JAM 2019 in multiple cities divided into 8 zones. Names of 8 zones and cities that come under them are below.
Candidates can select 3 cities of their choice in Registration. Out of that, one is allotted which they get to know about in admit card.
How To Change IIT JAM 2019 Exam Centre?
Only under exceptional circumstances, centre change requests are accepted. Otherwise IITs usually do not entertain requests for exam centre change. If there is a valid reason, then candidates can submit it to Organizing Chairperson, JAM 2019, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur 72130. This should reach on or before October 30, 2018. Fee payment for this request is Rs 500 via DD in favour of “JAM 2019” payable at Kharagpur. However sending a request does not guarantee change of centre.
