IIT MBA Admission 2020
IITs are the institutes of national importance. Out of the 23 IITs in India, 8 offer MBA course. Of them, 7 are the old IITs. IIT Jodhpur is one of the first 2nd generation IITs that were founded in 2008 to start MBA programme. The admission process includes checking eligibility and applying online for admission, appearing in WAT, GD, PI if shortlisted, checking the final selection status for admission.

Fact: IITs and IISc Bangalore used to conduct Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) for admission in MBA courses. However, it was discontinued from 2011. CAT scores are being used since then for admission.
Common Admission Test (CAT)
Common Admission Test or as it is more popularly called CAT, is a national level management entrance exam. It is conducted annually by one of the Indian Institutes of Management for admission in their flagship PGP course. However, apart from the IIMs, CAT score is used by other institutes too for admission. IITs use CAT score for admission in their MBA course.
CAT is held in online mode and around 2 to 2.5 lakh candidates appear for the exam each year. The exam has MCQ and TITA questions from verbal ability and reading comprehension, data interpretation and logical reasoning, and quantitative ability.

IIT MBA Admission 2020 Eligibility

CAT score: Candidates must have a valid score in the Common Admissions Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.
Qualification: Graduation from any discipline with a minimum percentage of marks that may differ from IIT to IIT. Final year students are also eligible to apply, but they must satisfy all eligibility norms at the time of admission.
1. JEE qualified IIT Graduates with CGPA between 7 & above, but less than 8 (7≥ <8) are exempted from CAT and will be directly be called for WAT/PI.
2.JEE qualified IIT Graduates with CGPA 8 and above are given direct admission.
IIT MBA Admission 2020 Selection Process
The common selection process that is used by all the 8 IITs for admission, use the below given broadly classified stages:
Stage 1: Shortlisting
Shortlisting is done based on the below given factors:
- CAT score
- Past academic performance,
- Work experience
- Academic Diversity
In this stage, relaxation for all categories according to GOI norms are followed.
Stage 2: Final Selection
Final selection of the candidates is based on the below given factors:
- Written Ability Test
- Personal interview

The application process of IIT MBA admission is as follows:
Step 1: Visit the website of the respective IITs to access the link for online application form for MBA admission. However, for application form of IITM, IITD, IIT Dhanbad, and IIT Roorkee.
Step 2: Next candidates have to register and fill the online application form.
Step 3: The submission of the form must be done in the online mode only with payments of application fee that is prescribed by the IITs.
Step 4: The successfully registered candidates have to then appear for the selection rounds as per the intimated schedules.
