IPU CET Eligibility Criteria 2020 – IPU has changed the admission process for its many major courses since the last year. To take admission in B.Tech, MCA, BA/BBA LLB, LLM and MBA courses the candidates have to appear in the respective national level entrance exam. For other courses, you need to be (A) Eligible for that program (B) Get merit in IPU CET 2020. The major eligibility points that the candidates need to note is regarding age limit, educational qualification. The eligibility criteria mean the minimum set of requirements that the candidates have to fulfil to be able to take admission in the University. Thus, the candidates have to be cautious and read the criteria below before applying for IPU admission 2020.

What Is New In IPU CET 2020 Eligibility Criteria?

Here is what has changed since the last year, for the following 5 courses, the admission is based on National Level Entrance Exams.

What does this indicate?: This means the candidates have to appear in these national level exam mandatorily to take admission in IPU. No IPU CET for such courses will be held. For medical programmes, NEET UG/PG is mandatory as always.

IPU Eligibility Criteria 2020 For Admission Via National Level Entrance Exam

To take admission in the following courses the candidates have to fulfil the eligibility criteria of their respective national level entrance exam also. Below is the brief eligibility for each if the entrance exam:

  1. JEE Main: To take admission in B.Tech programmes in IPU, JEE Main is compulsory. You are eligible to apply for JEE Main if:
    • You have qualified class 12 in the year in which the exam is being conducted within 2 years before the exam conducting year. Per se, if you are appearing in JEE Main in 2020, you must qualify class 12 in 2020, 2019 or 2018 and not later.
    • You have passed class 12th from a recognized institute, with at least 5 subjects. Students who have four exams are not eligible to take admission.
    • There is no age limit in JEE Main.
  2. NEET UG: To take admission in MBBS, BDS, MHMS, BAMS in IPU, candidates have to appear in NEET. You are eligible to appear in NEET if:
    • You are between 17 and 25 years in age to apply for NEET. SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5 years on upper age limit.
    • You have passed class 12 with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually.
    • You have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in the qualifying examination.
  3. NEET PG: To take admission in PGMC programmes in IPU, NEET PG is mandatory. the eligibility criteria of this entrance exam are:
    • An MBBS degree / Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from a recognized medical college or institute is a must.
    • Also, a permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS or equivalent qualification is required. It must be issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council.
  4. NIMCET: To take admission in MCA programmes in IPU, this entrance exam is mandatory. The eligibility for it is as follows:
    • Candidates should have qualified B.Sc / B.Sc (Hons.) / BCA / BIT under 10+2+3 pattern with Statistics / Mathematics as a subject.
    •  B.E. / B.Tech Degree is also an acceptable qualification for NIMCET.
    • The candidates belonging to General / OBC Category should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA score as the aggregate in all the subjects. SC/ST need 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA.
  5. CLAT UG: To take admission in BA/BBA LLB programmes in IPU, this entrance exam is mandatory. The eligibility for it is as follows:
    • You need to pass Class 12th (10+2) in any stream.
    • Obtained not less than 45% marks in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories. SC/ST candidates should have obtained a minimum of 40% marks.
  6. CLAT PG: To take admission in LLM programmes in IPU, this entrance exam is mandatory. The eligibility for it is as follows:
    • Candidates must have passed LL.B./Five-Year Integrated LL.B. (Hons.) / any other equivalent exam.
    • The candidates who belong to unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories should have obtained 55%. SC/ST candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks.
  7. CAT: To take admission in MBA programmes in IPU, this entrance exam is mandatory. The eligibility for it is as follows:
    • You must have a bachelor degree with minimum 50% marks.

  • CUCET 2021 Application (Phase-1)

For all Undergraduate Programmes where entry qualification is 12th pass other than MBBS/BDS21 years
For MBBS/BDS25 years
For all other Post Graduate Programmes where entry qualification is graduation35 years
Bachelor of Vocation45 years
BA LLB / BBA LLBNo Age Limit, subject to notification of Bar Council of India or the Hon’ble Court(s) before the commencement of Conselling / Admissions
  • Candidate should be not less than seventeen (17) years as on 31st December 2020 for BHMS/BAMS/MBBS/BDS Programme.
  • For BHMS/BAMS candidates, the candidate must have attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December 2020. The candidates attaining seventeen years on 01st January 2020 or later will not be eligible.
  • For Bachelor of Vocation Programmes, the candidate should not be less than 16 years on 31st December 2020.

Age Relaxation

  • The upper age limit may be relaxed upto a maximum of five years in exceptional cases
  • The candidates desirous of applying for age relaxation should apply in writing to Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

200. Bachelor of Vocation (a) Applied Arts (Only for Female Candidates) (b) Automobile (c) Construction Technology (d) Interior Design (Only for Female Candidates) (e) Power Distribution Management (f) Printing Tech. (g) Software Development

Eligibility Conditions:

  • For Applied Arts and Interior Design Specialization Only for girl/female candidates Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE with English as a subject of study (core/ elective/ functional) in the qualifying examination. Provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately. or
  • 10+2 year ITI in relevant discipline, Or
  • Three year diploma in any discipline
  • NSQF Level IV in relevant discipline
  • For Automobile, Construction Technology, Power Distribution Management, Printing & Publishing, Software Development Specialization Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE with English as a subject of study (core/ elective/ functional) in the qualifying examination. Provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately.
  • 10+2 year ITI in relevant discipline
  • Three year diploma in any discipline
  • NSQF Level IV in relevant discipline

Admissions Criteria: The admissions would be based on the merit list prepared on the basis of qualifying degree marks.

139 M.Tech. CET for the following programmes of studies (Computer Science Group): 1. M.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering) (Regular) 2. M.Tech. (Information Technology) (Regular) 3. M.Tech. (Information Security) (Regular) 4. M.Tech. (CSE) – Weekend

Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examination as under:-

  • B.Tech. / B.E. in Computer Science/Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology /Electronics and Communication Engineering /Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Grad. IETE/AMIE (ECE/CSE/IT/EE).
  • M.Sc. (IT/ Electronics/ Computer Science/Informatics/ Information Science & Technology/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operation Research/Applied Physics).
  •  MCA or MCA (SE).

140. M.Tech. CET for the following programmes of studies (Electronics Group): 1. M.Tech. (Digital Communication) (Regular) 2. M.Tech (Electronics & Communication Engineering) (Regular) 3. M.Tech. (VLSI Design) (Regular) 4. M.Tech. (Signal Processing) (Regular) 5. M.Tech. (RF & Microwave Engg.) (Regular) 6. M.Tech. (ECE) – Weekend)

Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examination as under:-

  • B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science/Computer Science & Engineering/Computer Engineering/Information Technology / Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering/Instrumentation & Control Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Grad. IETE/AMIE (ECE/CSE/IT/EE).
  • M.Sc. (IT/ Electronics/ Computer Science/Informatics/ Information Science & Technology/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operation Research/Applied Physics).

147 M.Tech (Tool Engineering) (Regular)

Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examination as under:-

  • B.Tech./ B.E. in Tool Engineering/ Mechanical/ Mechanical and Automation /Production/Production and industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • Grad. AMIE (ME)

148 M.Tech. (Biotechnology) (Regular)

Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examinations as:

  • BE/B.Tech (Biotechnology / Chemical Technology/ Biochemical Engg. ) or equivalent. OR
  • MS / M.Sc. (Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biosciences / Genetics / Life-Sciences) or equivalent.

149 M.Tech. (Nano Science and Technology) (Regular)

Minimum 55% or equivalent in the qualifying examinations: M.Sc.(Physics / Applied Physics / Electronics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biosciences/ Life Sciences / Material Science); B.E./B.Tech (Electronics / Computer Science / Electrical / Mechanical / Engineering Physics / Metallurgy / Material Engineering / Information Technology / Biotechnology / Biomedical / Chemical Engineering or Technology); or equivalent and Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 or undergraduate level is a must.

150. M.Tech. (Engineering Physics) (Regular)

Minimum 55% or equivalent in the qualifying examinations as under:

  • BE/B.Tech. Electronics/Computer Science / Electrical / Engineering Physics / Information Technology/Instrumentation & Control or equivalent
  • M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Electronics / Mathematics or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in the qualifying degree. However, must have studied Physics at the undergraduate level.

152. M.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) (Regular)

Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examinations in B.Tech./B.E. in Chemical Engineering or equivalent

156. M.Tech. (Robotics and Automation) (Regular)

Minimum 60% or equivalent in any one of the following qualifying examination:

  • B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science/Computer Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • B.Tech./B.E. in instrumentation and Control Engineering / Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering / Electrical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • B.Tech./B.E. in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical and Automation Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Production Engineering/Automobile Engineering / Mechatronics / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • B.Tech./B.E. in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
