ISM Dhanbad JRF Admission 2017 – Phase 2
IIT(ISM) JRF is open to candidates, below the age of 30 years (35 years for women, PC, SC, ST & OB) as on the last date of online application, who have obtained FIRST CLASS OR OGPA 7.0 and above (In case of class not mentioned) in their qualifying degree of relevant discipline of Science, Engineering and Management. The candidates applying in the Humanities disciplines (English/Philosophy/Sociology) the cut-off is 55% marks or higher grade in their respective post-graduate degree.

ISM Dhanbad JRF Phase II Application Form 2017
Interested candidates should register their name using valid email id and phone number and submit their application online as per the schedule. The application fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rs.1000/- for SC/ST/PC candidates) for the IIT(ISM) JRF programme is to be paid online, by the available mode of payment supported. The candidates will be guided through the application process while registration and online application. Please read the on-screen instructions very carefully while filling online application. Candidates are advised to take utmost care while filling and NOT to give any false information or conceal any information.

If the claim by the candidate is found to be WRONG at any stage of IIT(ISM) JRF selection process, their candidature will be cancelled and no communication in this regard will be made. Candidates will be responsible for any kind of mistakes occurred during the filling and consequent submission of online application. Submission of hard copy of application form
Hard copy of the completed application is NOT required to be submitted. However, candidates are advised to keep copy of the application for further reference.

Payment option: The modes of online payment are through Net banking / Debit card / Credit card.
For all disciplines applicants with B.Tech degree from IITs with CGPA/OGPA 8.50 and above are eligible to apply. These candidates will be called for direct interview in the JRF admissions.Candidates appearing for their final semester exams are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
The minimum eligibility qualification for Mining Engineering and Petroleum engineering disciplines will be FIRST CLASS in the respective B.Tech degree.
For all other engineering, Science and Management disciplines the minimum eligibility qualification will be FIRST CLASS in their respective M.Tech/M.E. Degree/Postgraduate degree.
If class is NOT mentioned in the candidate’s certificate, then an OGPA of 7.0 or above will be considered as FIRST CLASS.
For Humanities disciplines (English/Philosophy/Sociology), candidates with 55% marks or equivalent grade in their qualifying examination are eligible to apply.
#Equivalence degrees for B.Tech will be BE/BSc Engg. (4 years) and for M.Tech will be ME/M.Sc. Engg.
Age limit for various categories as on the last date of online application [31 Oct 2017] are :
- For General Male Candidate – 30 yrs
- For Male Candidates Other categories (OBC, PC, SC & ST) – 35 yrs
- For Female Candidates (All categories) – 35 yrs
Age relaxation as above will be allowed for candidates with valid documents. The original documents will be scrutinized prior to the interview and if found incorrect/insufficient the candidature will be cancelled.
ISM JRF Entrance Examination (ISMJRFEE)
All applicants opted for the JRFEE will have to qualify in the examination to be called for the interview. JRFEE will adopt Multiple Choice Questions with NEGATIVE marking for wrong answers. The national wide JRFEE will be held on 12.11.2017 (SUNDAY) at the centres from 9.00 AM – 12.00 Noon.

A candidate can get qualified for the interview through any of the following modes:
- Valid GATE score
- Valid NET rank
- Qualify in ISM JRF Entrance Examination (ISM JRF-EE)
- Posses B.Tech from IITs in respective discipline with OGPA/CGPA 8.5 and above.
The above modes will be considered as screening criteria. Merit list will be prepared only on the basis of performance of the candidate in the INTERVIEW.
After the interview, a merit list will be prepared from the qualified candidates and will be invited to take admission on a scheduled date (27.12.2017). The original documents will be scrutinized again before admission. Selected candidates are required to bring all the ORIGINAL documents, including the final degree certificate and migration certificate while coming for admission on the said date. No extension will be given under any circumstances.
The selected JRFs are required to register for Ph.D. programme within three months of their joining by paying the requisite tuition fees and other charges on the date of their registration, failing which the selection will stand, cancelled.
All JRFs will be governed by the IIT(ISM)’s Ph. D. rules (full-time) prevailing at that time.
