Physics: In shift 1 Physics was very lengthy. Questions from Mechanics were tough. Some students are saying that question in physics, question was asked from class 11th. The question of Partial pressure was there and it was easy. Physics section was totally numerically based. So as per students, physics was moderate to difficult.

Chemistry: Maximum questions in the Chemistry section were directly asked from NCERT. Question from aldehydes and carbolic acid was also there. The questions were equally asked from organic and inorganic chemistry. In chemistry, there was a line from NCERT which was as it is in the form of fill in the blanks. The Chemistry section was totally from NCERT. Overall, chemistry was easy in shift 1.

JEE Main 2019 Analysis for Mathematics: Mathematics section was very time consuming and calculative. Question from parabola was there in which student had to find variables. No question was asked from linear equations. Students found Calculus very tricky. Questions asked from integration was easy. Overall, maths was moderate to tough and lengthy.

JEE Main 2019 Student Reaction for Shift 2

  • There were many repetitions of questions from mock tests.
  • As per the student reaction if thoroughly you have done the NCERT, then he/she can easily attempt the questions.
  • One student has reported to face a technical glitch while giving the examination.
  • Maths was time-consuming and physics and chemistry were easy as per one of the students who has taken the examination.
  • In maths integral questions were difficult, chemistry was easy
  • On the basis of students who have appeared for the exam, maths was comparatively easy but lengthy.

JEE Main 2019 Student Reaction for Shift 1

  • As per the reaction of students, Physics was moderate to difficult, Chemistry was easy and Maths was tough, lengthy and time-consuming.
  • This time questions were out of the box and also a bit tricky in Physics.
  • Students are saying that as compared to CBSE, NTA has set a tougher paper.
  • Altogether, questions were very time-consuming.
  • In Chemistry, questions were directly asked from NCERT.
  • Most students are saying that the expected marks they will score are 200.
  • Overall, questions in JEE Main exam was more from class 12th compared to class 11th.

JEE Main 2019 Expected Cutoff

As per the previous year trends which are given in the table below, the JEE Main 2019 expected cutoff is 75-80 for general category students. As it is seen the cut off has been falling since 2017 and since this year, the difficulty level of the exam is reported to be higher as compared to 2018. We can expect that the cutoff will be somewhere around 75-80 for the general category students this year.

JEE Main 10 Jan 2019 Paper 1 Analysis

The JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 is conducted in Online mode, i.e. Computer-based. In a duration of 03 hours, the candidates have to solve MCQ type questions, The Paper 1 is divided into three sections which are – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each section consists of 30 MCQ type question and the paper is of total 360 marks.

Previous Year JEE Main Exam Analysis by Coaching Institutes

Till the time, the JEE Main 2019 Analysis is released by the Coaching Institutes, the candidates can check the last year analysis.

Analysis by Career Launcher: As, per CL, the JEE Main paper was overall slightly Difficult. Mathematics was in particular lengthy and slightly more challenging, with Physics and Chemistry proving to be of Moderate difficulty level.

The level of difficulty of the paper as per Career Launcher as follows:

JEE Main Analysis by Resonance: As per the analysis published by Resonance, the over difficulty level of the JEE Main paper last year was Moderate difficulty level. Mathematics was on the tougher side in comparison with Chemistry and Physics. Furthermore, Out of 360 marks, 132 marks were considered of the easy level, 148 marks were considered of medium difficulty level and 80 marks were considered to be of difficult level.
