JEE Main 2018 Dress Code
CBSE has not specified any dress code for JEE Main 2018. However, some pointers are wise to keep in mind regarding what to wear and what not to wear to the exam hall.
- Do not wear anything with too many pockets.
- Do not wear jewellery.
- Wear simple, clothes without accessories.
- Preferably wear t-shirt and jeans, or top/kurti with leggings.
For JEE Advanced 2016, a dress code was introduced for the examinees. However, for JEE Main there was no such implication. Same happened in 2017, there was no such restriction for JEE Main 2017. So, those appearing for JEE Main 2018 can wear whatever they wish but it should be comfortable. To be precise, there is no dress code for JEE Main 2018.

What To Wear On The Day Of The Examination?
Though there is no dress code for the candidates appearing for JEE Main 2018, however here we have provided the dress materials for Boys and Girls which they can wear comfortably and confidently on the day of the examination:
- For Boys: You can wear T-shirt & Jeans along with Sandal.
- For Girls: You can wear Top or T-shirt & Jeans or Leggings along with Loafer or Flat.
What Not To Wear On The Day Of The Examination?
Given below are the list of prohibited dress materials/ as they were not allowed in JEE Advanced 2016:
- Full sleeve shirt
- High Heels
- Also, avoid wearing something which requires a belt as they might ask you to remove it.
Why Is It So Important To Know About The Dress Code?
There are not much entrance tests which have some strict rules on dress code, except for NEET. For NEET, the candidates have to appear at the test center as per the dress code only. Maybe it is this wind only which has made the JEE aspirants nervous about their entrance test. Both the tests are conducted by CBSE, however, both have completely different set of rules.
Items which you should not carry inside the exam center
Though there is no dress code however you should not carry any of the following items inside the center centre:
- Mobile Phone
- Digital Watch
- Log Table
- Bits of papers, etc.
- Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks
What To Carry To The Exam Hall On The Day Of Examination?
On the day of the examination, you must bring the following items only.
- A print out of the JEE Main 2018 Admit Card
- A valid Photo ID proof
- Disability certificate of candidates under this category
- A clear clipboard
