CBSE has issued JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket on March 12, 2018. The Board has released it for the registered candidates. The downloading of hall ticket has begun online, on jeemain.nic.in and the candidates cannot avail it via any other medium. Date for Issuance of JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket

Everyone predicted various dates for the release of admit card of JEE Main 2018. CBSE quietly released on March 12, 2018. Candidates can refer to the table below to check all the important dates.

Process to Download JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket


First of all, candidates should note that the hall ticket will only be released online. candidates shall not receive it via post. CBSE will also not e-mail it to the candidates. The process to download it is as shown below:

  • Visit the official website or click on the link provided on this page.
  • If the candidates will visit the official website then click on “JEE Main 2018 Hall ticket Download” button.
  • Next, to access the login candidates need to enter Application Number and Password.
  • Click on the ‘Login’ button and download the hall ticket.

Candidates will have to download the hall ticket and create a print copy of it. At the exam hall, the invigilator will only accept the hard copy of the hall ticket.

Forgot Application Number for Downloading JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket

If the candidates are not able to remember the application number then no need to panic. It can be easily retrieved. Firstly, check the confirmation page of JEE Main application form. If you are unable to find it as well then follow the steps below:

  • On the hall ticket portal click on “Forgot Application Number”.
  • Enter Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, State of Eligibility.
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  • Get your application number.

Documents to Carry On Exam Date Along With JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket

The candidates need to carry certain documents on the exam day or they will not be allowed to appear for the exam. The essential documents required on the exam day are:

  • JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket.
  • One Photo ID Proof.
  • PwD Certificate (as mentioned in Appendix 9 of the information brochure).

What are the valid Id Proofs? – Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Bank Passbook, License, Any other Govt. Authorised ID Proof.

Importance of JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket

The hall ticket of JEE Main is definitely an important document. Without it, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall and take the test. Apart from this, the hall ticket is important because:

Announcement of Exam Center: The center allocated to the candidates will be announced through the hall ticket.

The announcement of Slot – For the online exam, the allocated slot will also be mentioned on the JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket. Candidates who did not book a slot shall get one automatically.

Proof of Identity – JEE Hall Ticket is not only a hall pass, it is also a proof identity. It ensures that the candidate who filled the application form is appearing for the exam.

JEE Main 2018 Exam Pattern

Candidates should also know JEE Main 2018 exam pattern before the exam. It will help candidates in understanding the question paper and at the exam hall, candidates will not struggle to know it. The pattern is as follows:

Duration – Candidates will get 3 hours to attempt the exam.

Language – The question paper will be provided either in Hindi or English language. However, in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli states the paper will also be provided in the Gujarati language.

Paper and Subjects – Paper I in JEE Main is for UG Engineering admission and questions are asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Paper II is for B.Arch and B.Plan admission and the questions are asked from Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing.

Mode of Exam – Paper I will be held in both online and offline mode, whereas, Paper II will only be conducted in offline mode.

Number of Questions – In Paper I there shall be 90 MCQ. In Paper II, 70 MCQ and 2 drawing questions are to be attempted.

Marking Scheme – Each question will be of 4 marks. Negative marking of 1 mark is applicable.

Instructions for JEE Main 2018

The candiates must also be aware of the following instructions while appearig for the exam:

What to Carry? – Apart from JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket, ID proof, PwD certificate the candidates can also carry:

  • Black ballpoint pen if going for the offline paper./
  • If going for Paper II then carry cardboard, writing pad, pen, pencil, Colour pencils or Crayons, geometry set, etc. Water colours are not allowed.
  • Online exam candidates will get a pen and rough sheet at the exam hall.
  • Diabetic candidates can carry eatables.

What Not Carry? – Do not carry any electronic gadget like cell phones, pager, MacBook etc. Candidates should also not carry log table, books, paper material etc. Watched are also not allowed in the exam hall.

  • The watches banned from the exam hall are electronics ones which have calculator facility.

Result Not Announced – The result of following candidates will not be announced:

  • Who will carry items which are not allowed.
  • Will be caught cheating.
  • Candidates who talk inside the exam hall.
  • Aims to disturb the fellow mates.
  • Removes page from test booklet.
  • Will be found sitting on another seat.
  • Appears for the exam at incorrect center.

General Instructions – The  candidates should also abide by the following general instructions:

  • Open the test booklet only when asked to and do the same for beginning the test.
  • Write your name and roll number properly on the test booklet and answer sheet.
  • Do not mark offline exam answers with the pencil.
  • Reach the exam hall on time and corporate with the frisking.
  • Check the test booklet and answer sheet number and ensure that it is the same.
  • If any page in the booklet is missing then inform your invigilator.
  • Carry your JEE Main 2018 Hall Ticket and other required documents.
