Who Can Do the JEE Main 2019 Application Form Correction
As per the details on the website, all the candidates who have registered for the JEE Main 2019 exam, for April as well as for the January exam, can do the JEE Main 2019 Form Correction. The candidates have to follow the steps on this page below to make corrections in the form.
Note that, once you submit the changes you cannot go back and edit the form. Thus you need to make all the corrections in one go. Thus, be extra cautious while editing the application form for the one last time.

Here are the following items that one need to keep in hand to complete the application form correction:
- Keep the login details ready i.e. application number and password as received during the registration.

How To Do JEE Main 2019 Application Form Correction
To do the JEE Main 2019 Application Form correction the candidates have to start with keeping handy the above-mentioned documents. Once you have the necessary details, proceed with the steps herein:
- Visit the official website jeemain.nic.in or check the direct link on this page above. The following page opens:
- Thereafter the candidates can see the login window, as shown below:
- In the open window enter the login details i.e. the application number and date of birth. Click on the “Login” button to submit the details.
- Next, on the dashboard, the blue button appears that says”correct application form particular”. Click on it as shown below:
- Thereafter an instruction page opens. Read the same carefully and proceed to make corrections:
- In doing so the application form opens in the editable mode. Change or edit the details you wish to. And click on the submit and review button as shown below:
- Thereafter the candidates will be asked to review the details on final time. Note this is the step to check the details for the one last time. Once you submit the details after this point, you cannot change any details further.
- Check the details that you have verified using the checkbox that appear next as shown below:
- Finally, submit the corrected JEE Main 2019 application form by clicking on the submit button. Thereafter pay the required fee (if applicable).
JEE Main 2019 Application Form Correction Fee
The application fee correction depends on the changes that you make in the application form. The additional fee for the changes is to be paid using the online payment mode via UPI or credit/debit/net banking facility.
The important thing to note here is that not all the correction require payment of additional fee. Some of the changes that require an additional payment are:
- Change of the gender
- Change of the category
- Also, change of choice of the paper – Rs. 200 extra

Why The JEE Main 2019 Application Form Can be Rejected
Here are few of the reasons that may lead to the cancellation of the JEE Main 2019 Application form even after the form correction is done and the fee is paid:
Wrong uploading of the scanned images: Make sure to upload correct images. This means that the image dimensions and quality must be as per the specification in the information brochure. Make sure your photo has no red-eye and is not blur.

The eligibility is not correct: Ensure that the year of passing 10+2, the age, the percentage in 10+2, and all other eligibility norms are fulfilled in the application form.
The additional JEE Main Form Correction fee is not paid: If after the application form correction the fee is not paid, the corrections rea not considered and this may lead to submission of old information which is wrong. This, in turn, might lead to form cancellation.
What Details can be Edited in the JEE Main 2019 Application Form?
As the JEE Main 2019 January examination, NTA is to allow the candidates to change all the details in the application form except for the exam centres. This means the candidates are allowed to changes the following details in the form:
- Educational Qualification
- Personal Details – In case of name candidates can change only one out of the following:
- Candidate’s name, or
- Father’s name, or
- Mother’s name
- Choice of papers – Paper 1/Paper 2 or both
Apart from these major details, all other details are available for editing and change. Note that only the exam centre preferences cannot be edited.
What Details cannot be edited in JEE Main 2019 Application Form Correction?
As mentioned above apart for the exam centre preferences, the candidates can change or edit other details in the application form. Therefore it is a very good opportunity for all those who have made some silly or major mistakes in their application form.
The candidates, however, cannot change their exam centre, which is a major factor. This is because after the form correction is over, NTA allots one exam centre in the one exam city that the candidates have selected as their most preferred exam city in the application form.
Significance Of JEE Main 2019 Application Form Correction
The application form correction opens for the candidates as an opportunity to correct or change any details that they wish to after the submission of the application forms. Now, it is to be noted that, the correct data of the candidates are very important as:
- they are crosschecked at the time of seat allotment and counselling.
- If a candidate thereafter is found to have provided the wrong data, their admission might get affected.
- In addition to that, the data in the application is reflected in the admit card and all other important documents that are used for admission in IIITs, CFTIS, and NITs
Therefore NTA also keeps this in priority to collect only correct data from the candidates. This is why it is important to get the correct data in the application form.
Image Correction Facility Opens Before JEE Main 2019 Application Form Correction
NTA has opened the login for the registered candidates to make corrections in their images if they have made any mistakes in this regard. The login facility is available at jeemain.nic.in. The candidates have to enter their application number and password to access the image correction facility.
Processing Of Corrections Submitted
The processing of the corrections submitted by the candidates start only after the application fee correction fee is paid. Before that, your correction(s) in the Application Form Particulars are saved temporarily. Therefore, make sure you pay the application fee before the deadline. If not done so the application form corrections are rejected and the old details are considered.

Q1. The photo which I have uploaded in the form does not have my name and date of clicking the picture. Will my form be rejected?
Ans. This has been mentioned on the official website that if any candidate has uploaded the photograph without date and time inadvertently, the same will also be accepted. However, now that you are given the application form correction facility, you should upload the image as per the instructions.
Q2. I forgot to upload my Class 10th certificate. Can I do it so in the JEE Main 2019 Form Correction window?
Ans. Yes, at the time of form correction, you can upload the missed document and edit any details.
Q3. I will be appearing for the improvement exam, but in the JEE Main Application Form, I have chosen the option No for appearing in the improvement exam. Can I change it now?
Ans. Yes, you can select the other option in the JEE Main Application Form correction window.
Q4. I have applied for both the papers for JEE Main 2019, but now I wish to change it to Paper 1 only. Can I change it now? If so, will the application fee for the other paper will be refunded?
Ans. Yes, you choose to appear for Paper 1 only, and vice versa, if you wish so. In the JEE Main 2019 Information Brochure, it has been specified that the application fee once paid by the candidates will not be refunded, also, nothing about the refund is mentioned in the JEE Main 2019 Form Correction notification. Hence, it can be concluded that the application fee which you paid for both the paper shall not be refunded.
Q5. By mistake, I have entered my name as given in the Aadhaar Card. Can I edit now?
Ans. Yes, you can edit your name.
JEE Main 2019 Exam Center Allotment
Few days after the application form correction window closes, NTA releases a public notice that has the exam centre, date and time allotment dates. Like the JEE Main 2019 January exam, this year too NTA might allot the exam centre before, and a few days after the exam date and shift is to be declared.
The candidates have to enter their application number to know their exam centre, date and shift. The important thing here is that the allotment is not done at jeemain.nic.in but at nta.ac.in.
JEE Main 2019 Exam Date And Shift Allotment
This the day when NTA allots the exact exam date and the shift in which they have to appear for the JEE Main 2019 Exam. The date and shifts are decided as per the number of students who register for the exam successfully.
In the previous attempt, JEE Main 2019 was held over a period of 5 days and there was 2 shift in each day. This time too, NTA is going to declare the shifts and dates as per the registrations received. Now to check the exam date and shift, the candidates have to log in using their application number at nta.ac.in and the shift and date appear on the screen as shown below:
JEE Main 2019 Admit Card
After the application process and the correction window is complete, NTA issues the admit card to appear in the exam. NTA is releasing the admit card from March 20, 2019, to all the registered candidates as per the details they provide in the application form. The admit card is the only document that allows the candidates to enter the exam centre.
The admit card must be accompanied with a valid photo id proof in original. In addition to that, the candidates have to keep the admit card safe even after the result is declared until the seat allotment.
