The allotment of JEE Main 2019 Exam Date, Shift, City is important as the candidates have to appear for the exam as per the allotment. NTA allots the dates and shifts to the candidates on a random basis using computer software. The exam city is allotted as per the choices that the candidates mention while filling the application form.

Why Does NTA Allots JEE Main 2019 Exam Date, Shift, and City?
The students are not given the choice to select their preferred JEE Main 2019 exam date and shift, however, it allows to select 4 preferred exam city in the application form. It then allots the exam centre in one of the 4 selected cities.
The question is thus, why does NTA not allowing the candidates to select their own exam date and shift?
The reason that NTA quotes is “to determine the NTA Score on the basis of two attempts made by the equal number of candidates is a prerequisite. Hence, the random allotment is done by computer software, as per the decision by the NTA”.
JEE Main 2019 Exam City
In the application form for JEE Main for the candidates have already filled in their choices of the exam cities. In the application form, the candidates were asked to fill in the choices of their exam city in order of their preference.
Now as per the choices by the candidates, NTA allots the exam centre where the candidates have to appear in the exam in the first city of their choice. However, in rare cases, the exam centre is allotted in the less preferred exam city. Mostly the exam centre is in the first preferred choice.
Thus, the candidates can expect their exam centre to be in the 1st preferred exam city. The details of the exam centre are provided to the candidates via the admit card.
JEE Main 2019 Exam Date
NTA is conducting the exam in 5 days in all. This time for the April exam, the dates are declared keeping in mind the general elections. The dates for the JEE Main 2019 April exam are as follows:

NTA allots one day and one shift to the registered candidates to appear in the online exam. The candidates can not request a change in the exam date or shift by any means. Once allotted the candidates need to appear in the exam accordingly.
JEE Main 2019 Exam Shift
In all the 5 days in which the exam is being held, there are 2 shifts. Each shift is of 3 hours duration and the candidates have to appear accordingly at the centres. NTA advices to reach the exam centre 1 hour before the exam start time.

The allotted exam shift and the reporting time at the exam centre are available via the admit card too. The candidates have to abide by their shift time. There is no shifting of candidates from one shift to another.
Will there be slot booking for JEE Main 2019?
No, NTA does not allow the slot booking facility of any kind. The allotment of exam date, shift and centre are not in the hands of the candidates. Only the conducting body has the right to allot the dates that cannot be requested to change.

JEE Main 2019 Admit Card
The admit card is the document that contains allotted exam date and shifts. It contains the name of the exam center and it’s detailed address too. Therefore, the candidates must download the same before appearing in the exam.
Note that, no candidates are allowed to enter the exam centre without the hardcopy of the admit card. JEE Main 2019 Admit Card for the April exam must be accompanied at the exam centre with an original photo ID proof and a passport sized photo. The JEE Main 2019 Admit Card is kept available under the candidates’ login until the exam day.

National Testing Agency is the new body that has taken the responsibility to hold the JEE Main 2019 exam in online mode and twice a year. For the year 2019, it has already conducted the January exam and declared the result. The April exam dates are April 07, 08, 09, 10, and 12, 2019.
After the April exam, the result is declared again. Based on the best scores of the candidates out of both the attempts, the All India Rank List is published.
The scores of the JEE Main 2019 are percentile based as the exam is held over multiple sessions and days. In The January exam, 15 students had scored a perfect 100 percentile in paper 1 and in paper 2, 2 students got 100 percentile.
