Dear candidates, with the present situation in view and the demand of students, NTA has decided to postpone JEE Main 2020. The new exam dates of JEE Main 2020 are September 1 to 6, 2020. Therefore the release of the admit card of JEE Main 2020 will be done accordingly and dates for the same will be announced by NTA later. Candidates only get entry in the exam hall after showing JEE Main 2020 admit card. It is an important document and candidates need it even after the announcement of JEE Main 2020 result. JEE Main 2020 Admit Card Time of Release
The JEE Main 2020 admit card release time varies every year. A pattern can be traced out and an expected release time van be figured following the past trends:

Application Number / Password Lost? Don’t Worry Try This!
Application number and password are mandatory to download JEE Main hall ticket 2020. If candidate have forgotten it, then there is no need to worry. Follow the steps below to recover it:
Steps to recover application number?
Step 1 – Access the login link available on this page.
Step 2 – Next, click on the ‘forgot application no’ link. It is available at the bottom right side of the login.
Step 3 – Following the steps above, the candidates need to enter:
- Father name.
- Mother name.
- Date of birth.
- Security pin.
Step 4 – After this, the application number is send to the candidates.
Steps to recover password for JEE Main 2020?
Step 1 – Click on the login link above and then click on the click ‘forgot password’ link, given at the bottom left of the login.
Step 2 – Now, the candidates gets 3 options for:
- Using security question and its answer you chosen during form filling.
- Using a verification code sent via text message (SMS) to your registration mobile number.
- Using a reset link sent via e-mail to your registered email address.
Step 3 – If candidates select option 1, then they need to enter:
- Application number
- Security question
- Security answer
- Security pin
If candidates select the other two options then they need to enter:
- Application number
- Date of birth
- Security pin
Step 4 – After entering these details, candidates get option to reset new password.
How to Download JEE Main 2020 Admit Card?
Candidates can only download admit card from the login, at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The step by step process to download it is as follows:

Step 1 – The admit card of JEE Main can be downloaded via 2 option, which are
- Through application number and password.
- Through application number and date of birth.

Step 2 – Candidates who select through application number and password get the login as shown below. To access this login, candidates need to enter:
- Application number
- Security pin
On the other hand, candidate who select through application number and date of birth option, get a window as follows. To access it, candidates have to enter:
- Application number
- Date of birth
- Security pin
Step 3 – Once, candidates have entered the details, click on the blue ‘SIGN IN’ button.
Step 4 – After this, the dashboard opens. Towards the end there is a blue button for ‘Download Admit Card’. Click on it.
Step 5 – On clicking the button, the admit card of JEE Main 2020 is automatically downloaded. It is downloaded as a pdf.
The application number, date of birth, and password is to be entered as generated / used during the application process. The JEE Main security pin is displayed on the login. It can be a numbers, alphabets or combination of it.
How to Carry JEE Main 2020 Admit Card?
It is important to note that the admit card of Joint Entrance Examination Main is only issued online. However, on the exam day, candidates have to carry it as a hard copy. Candidates should download the admit card and generate a print copy of it, on an A4 sheet. The copy should be neat with a clear print.
What to Carry with JEE Main 2020 Admit Card on Exam Day?
Along with the JEE Main admit card 2020, the candidates also need to carry following to the exam hall:
1 passport size photograph
- Same as the one uploaded in the application form of JEE Main 2020.
- It has to be pasted in the attendance sheet, at the center.
A valid authorized photo id proof
- It has not be carried as original and must be valid.
- Valid id can be PAN card / e-aadhaar card / aadhaar card / voter id card / passport / ration card / class 12 admit card / bank passport
JEE Main 2020 April aspirants can carry any of the id card above. However, it should have photograph of the candidates.
Only for B.Arch / B.Plan candidates
- Carry your own pencils, geometry set, eraser, colour pencils / crayons.
- Water colours are not allowed.
- This is only mandatory for PwD candidates seeking undertaking of scribe,
- It should have been issued by an authorized medical officer.
Amid cornoa virus crises it seems wise to carry hand sanitizer. However, make sure to remove the label and carry a transparent bottle. So that, it is allowed in the exam hall.

What to Do If Unable to Download JEE Main 2020 Admit Card?
When NTA releases the admit card, the website starts to work slow. In such case, candidate can do nothing but try after some time. The issue is generally resolved in some time. However, if this is not the case and candidates are still not able to download JEE Main 2020 hall ticket then it can be due to any of the following reasons:
- NTA did not issue admit card.
- There is some technical error.

It is an option under the login. Through it, the candidates can submit basic queries. To access it, candidates need to follow the steps below:
Step 1 – Access JEE Main 2020 login and go to ‘Register Query’ option.
Step 2 – After clicking the link above, click on ‘Query Type’ and you will get to see following queries:
- Request for exam city change after display of admit card.
- Mistake in identification type / name / mother name / father name / DoB / state of residence / category / PwD.
- Change of subject / course / paper.
- Not able to upload photo / signature.

What to Wear? JEE Main 2020 Dress Code
There is no specific dress code for JEE Main, as it if for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. However, candidates can follow below mentioned instructions:
✓If wearing kara, kripan, etc. then reach exam hall 1:30 hr before the exam.
✓Avoid wearing watches, sun glasses, scarfs, caps, etc.
x Do not wear clothes with too many pockets.
x Do not carry bags, pouches, etc.
x Do not wear clothes with too many layers, it might cause suspicion.
JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern
Now that we know all about JEE Main 2020 admit card, it is time to have a look at the exam pattern. The pattern of JEE Main 2020 changed drastically. Few crucial things to note are:
- NVTs type questions were introduced.
- Instead of Paper 1 and 2. Now, there are B.Tech / B.E paper, B.Arch Paper, and B.Plan paper.
- Number of question in each paper is different.
What is similar is that still JEE Main is a 3 hour exam which is only held in computer based mode. The question paper is provided in the English, Hindi, and Gujarati language, depending on the choice for the language submitted in the application form.
Other than this, as per exam pattern of JEE Main, each question in the exam is for 4 marks and negative marking in the exam is of 1 marks. However, there is no negative marking in NVTs.

JEE Main 2020 Exam Instructions
Few important instructions which the candidates must know about JEE Main 2020 admit card and the exam are as follows:
- Reach JEE Main 2020 exam center at time so that the checking and frisking can be done properly.
- Candidates will not be allowed to enter exam hall after 9:00 a.m / 2:00 p.m.
- At the exam center, candidates get a seat indicating their roll number. Candidate must sit in their seat only.
- In the exam hall, candidates have to fill needed details in the attendance sheet.
- Candidates also have to paste passport size photo and thumb impression in the sheet. Both should be done neatly.
- At the exam hall, candidates will get pen / pencil and paper. Candidates need to write their name and roll number on the sheet. These items are to be returned after the exam, before leaving the exam hall.
- During the exam, candidates might have to show admit card multiple times.
- Candidates cannot leave exam hall during the examination.
Why NTA had to Postpone Issuance of JEE Main 2020 Admit Card?
National Testing Agency (NTA) had to release JEE Main 2020 admit card on March 20, 2020. However, during this time corona virus broke out in India. The number of COVID-19 cases kept on increasing and looking at the scenario, NTA postponed the exam. Now that the exam has been postponed, the agency also decided to postpone the issuance the admit card.
Why JEE Main 2020 admit card was postponed? – See, the admit card of JEE Main contains exam date, exam time, center address and more details. If any of these details is missing then the admit card is not considered valid. Hence, to issue the admit card, NTA needs to be sure of the exam date and time first. That is why the admit card has to be delayed.
About JEE Main 2020
JEE Main stands for Joint Entrance Examination Main. It is one of the biggest engineering entrance examinations of India. NTA conducts it for admission of candidate in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc., in B.Tech / B.E / B.Arch / B.Plan courses. Only eligible 10+2 qualified / appearing candidates can apply for the exam.
