How Do the JEE Main 2020 Rank Predictors Work?
The candidates must note that the rank predictors are mostly based on the data of the previous year’s student’s performance. The rank predictors are just indicators of what can the probable rank of the candidates based on the past year’s marks v/s percentile. The rank predictors cannot be accurate as the percentile calculation depends on 2 factors that cannot be figured out. These are:
- Number of candidates who appeared in the same shift as you
- No. of candidates appeared from the session with raw score equal to or less than you
Since the calculation of percentile cannot be done accurately it is difficult to guess the rank.
How to Use the JEE Main 2020 Rank Predictors

JEE Main 2020 Cutoff
This year the cutoff is expected to go low as the number of candidates who appeared for the exam in attempt 2 held from September 1 to 6 were less as compared to previous years. There are 2 types of JEE Main cutoff:
- The first is minimum marks to be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced.
- The second is the minimum rank needed to get admission in the NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc also known as the opening and closing ranks.
JEE Main 2020 cutoff to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2020 is made available via the scorecard of JEE Main 2020 after both the attempts. JEE Main 2020 Result
In the JEE Main 2020 result that is available in the form of a scorecard, candidates can check their percentile score / NTA score in each of the sections and overall. However, the cutoff for JEE Advanced and all India ranks (AIR) is available in the JEE Main 2020 scorecard that is available after the April exam. The scorecard of JEE Main 2020 Jan and Apr attempt is released under the login of the candidates on jeemain.nta.nic.in. The scorecard must be downloaded and saved as it is needed at the time of admission.
National Testing Agency is responsible for conducting the national level engineering entrance exam – JEE Main, twice a year. This exam serves 2 purposes.
