JEE Main 3 Sep 2020 Analysis
After 2 days of the JEE Main 2020 exam, candidates have said they had felt safe at their respective exam centers. The COVID-19 SOPs are being followed without any failures. Inside the centers, the social distancing was followed, however outside the center gates the crowd was not managed. The combined result and rank for JEE Main Jan and Sep are expected to be out on 11 September 2020.

How were the COVID-19 precautions at the center? The centers were all prepared. There was no issue of SOP at the centers. Students said that they felt safe.

Was SOP maintained?: The students said that the SOPs were well maintained. Sanitisation was done many times for hands and other surfaces. Social distancing was proper. The washrooms were clean and sanitised. The only issue was social distancing outside the exam center gates.
Initial Reaction of Students:
- Physics had many numerical based questions.
- September exam was easier than the January exam, as per many students.
- Overall students were happy with the total paper.
- Some questions in the overall paper were tricky.
- In Maths, questions came from vector and 3D, matrices, complex numbers, integration, differential equations, calculus, coordinate geometry.
- Chemistry was maximum theory-based. Most of the questions were asked from chemical bonding and coordination compounds.
- Physics was time-consuming.
- As per the students, Physics was the most difficult section of all.
- Chemistry was the easiest.
- Maths was at a moderate level and was lengthy.

Marking scheme: The marking scheme is given below
- For every correct answer, candidates get 4 marks
- No negative marking in numerical type questions.
- 1 mark shall be deducted for wrong answer in MCQ question.
- 1 mark shall be deducted for choosing multiple answers for MCQ question.

JEE Main 2020 Answer Key
On the day of the examination, various coaching institutes releases memory based questions and answer key for JEE Main exam. It is released as pdf and is prepared on the basis of questions informed by the candidates to the coaching institutes.
NTA releases the official answer key of JEE Main 2020 on the official website. Candidates can download it for their question paper and session from the login by entering the application number and date of birth / password.
- Candidates can challenge official answer key of JEE Main 2020 by paying Rs. 1000 per challenge.
NTA checks all the representations send against the answer key. The valid representations are considered and as per it, changes are made in the final answer key. The result of the exam is calculated on the basis of the final answer key of JEE Main. It is released after the announcement of the result.
JEE Main 2020 Result
The result of JEE Main 2020 is only released online, on jeemain.nta.nic.in, under the logins of the candidates. JEE Main scorecard is released separately for 1st and 2nd attempt of the exam. It is released for individual candidates, at the login. It contains details of the candidate with NTA score and cut off. The rank of JEE Main is only announced after the 2nd attempt for the exam is over. It is prepared on the basis of the best NTA score out both the attempts. However, candidates who appear for only 1 exam of JEE get AIR on the basis of the NTA score for that attempt only.
About JEE Main 2020
National Testing Agency is the conducting body of JEE Main 2020. The exam is being held in 2 shifts each day. JEE Main 2020 is a national level engineering entrance exam in which around 11 lakh candidates appear for admission in B.E / B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Plan courses in the IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc. The exam is held in the online mode and for 3 hours. There are MCQ and numerical answer type questions in the exam. The JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates can then appear for JoSAA counselling for admission in NITs, CFTIs and IIITs. For admission in IITs, the top 2.5 lakh candidates have to appear for JEE Advanced 2020.
