JEE Main Answer Key 2018 will be issued by CBSE on April 24, 2018. The unofficial answer key will be available immediately after the exam by the coaching institutes. JEE Main 2018 is one of the most prestigious engineering entrance exams of the country, thus a large number of engineering coaching institutions will release unofficial answer key for the exam. Official & Unofficial JEE Main 2018 Answer Key

Nearly 12 Lakh students compete annually in the national level joint entrance exam. Hence, many prestigious coaching institutes release the answer key for the JEE Main exam just to facilitate the students who anxiously wait to judge their performances in the entrance exam. The unofficial answer key will be issued on the day after the exam has been conducted. However, the official answer will released by the Central Board Of Secondary Education a few days after the exam. Students should note that their JEE Main Score will be calculated on the basis of the official answer key only.

Challenging The JEE Main 2018 Answer Key

Once, the official answer key has been released, candidates who find any error in the answer key and wish to challenge the official answer key may fill an online application form. They should also note that they will have to pay a sum of Rs 1000 for every question they challenge. The official JEE Main answer key can only be challenged in the online mode through the official website of JEE Main i.e. www.jeemain.nic.in. Students can challenge the answer key till 11.59 PM on April 27, 2018. Students should remember that the decision on the challenges given by the JAB’s/CBSE’s will be final and no further communication will be entertained by the officials.

Steps to Challenge JEE Main 2018 Answer Key

To file a complaint against the answer key, the candidates will have to go through a procedure which will be as follows:

  • If the candidate will not be satisfied with the answer key then he/she can challenge by entering the ‘Challenge’ button.
  • Next, the candidates will have to select the question booklet number and question number.
  • Now, the answer to the selected question will be displayed on the screen.
  • Candidates will have to enter the claimed answer.
  • Next, the candidates will have to click on the ‘Add to claims list’ button.
  • Candidates will have to submit all the claims on one Click.
  • Lastly, the candidate will have to save all the claims by clicking on the final button.

Fees and Mode Of Payment For Challenging The JEE Main 2018 Answer Key

The fees for challenging the official answer key is Rs 1000 per question. Candidates can pay the fees in the online mode using their credit/debit cards. If the board accepts the challenge the fee paid by the candidate for each accepted challenge will be refunded to the concerned candidate directly in their account or else the fees will not be refunded. Hence, the candidates/parents are advised to use their own credit/debit card for making the payment.

How To Use The JEE Main 2018 Answer Key

The marking scheme for JEE Main 2018 is easy. You need to award 4 (four) marks for every correct answer. For every incorrect response you need to deduct 1 mark. Zero marks will be awarded for unattempted questions. Calculate the final scores that is your expected score for JEE Main 2018

JEE Main 2018 Result

The score or result for JEE (Main) – 2018 Paper-I will be declared on 30th April 2018. The result will show the actual marks obtained by the student in Paper-I (as per the answer official answer key). It will also show the qualification status of students i.e. students who will qualify the exam will appear in the next round of JEE 2018. The scorecard will also comprise the All India rank and All India category rank. It should be duly notes that only the All India Rank (AIR) will be used for granting admissions in to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/SFIs etc. While other ranks are for information purposes. The scorecard for JEE Main 2018 will be dispatched to the candidates and the candidates can also download their scorecards from / jeemain.nic.in only.

Preparing The Rank list for Paper I & Paper II

Under any situation if two or more students have the same score. Then the following measures will be taken into consideration.

  • Student with higher marks in the Mathematics section will be given a better rank.
  • Candidates with higher marks in the Physics section will be given preference.
  • If the tie still persists the ratio of positive marks and negative marks will be considered. Candidate having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
  • If the tie is still not broken then, the candidates will be given the same rank.

If two or more candidates have the same score in the JEE Main Paper II then, the following criterion will be taken into consideration.

  • Student who has obtained higher marks in the Aptitude Test will be given a better rank.
  • Student who has obtained better scores in the Drawing Test of Paper-2 will be given a better rank. ·
  • If the tie still persists the ratio of positive marks and negative marks will be considered. Candidate having higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
  • If the tie is still not broken then, the candidates will be given the same rank.
