JEE Main April 2020: NTA was supposed to release admit card for JEE Main 2020 April exam today, on March 20, 2020. However now the hall ticket will be released after March 31, 2020. The exam date has also been postponed. Initially the exam dates were April 5, 7, 9, and 11, 2020. But the National Testing Agency had to cancel these dates due to MHRD’s advisory on COVID-19 (coronavirus). The new exam date will now be announced on March 31, 2020. Students are advised to practice social distancing to stay safe from the virus, and utilize this time to better their preparations. JEE Mains is the Joint Entrance Examination, rank in which, leads to admission to BE/B.Tech, B.Arch/B.Plan programs in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs all over India. JEE Main April 2020 Admit Card
All candidates who have appeared for JEE Main April 2020 exam can download their admit card / hall ticket / call letter from jeemain.nta.nic.in as per schedule. Due to coronavirus, the schedule has been changed. However candidates are requested not to panic as all measures will be taken with their well being in mind.
Date of issuance of admit card: Was supposed to be Friday, 20th March 2020.
New date from which admit card will be available for download: Tuesday, 31st March 2020.
Direct link: The direct link to download admit card of JEE Main 2020 exam will be available at jeemain.nta.nic.in. a red/pink button with the text “Download Admit Card” will appear on the website as soon as the admit card is released; this will be the direct link.
At what time on 31st March 2020 will the admit card be released?
There is no fixed time for the direct link to get activated. NTA has not promised exact time for it. The direct link can thus become available at any time on 31st March.
JEE Main 2020 April Exam Postponed Due To COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
National Testing Agency has taken the difficult decision of postponing the Joint Entrance Examination Mains. Although newspapers had already reported it one day before, the official notification on this came late night on the 18th of March 2020. Whereas initially the exam date of JEE Main 2020 second attempt (or the second exam of the year) was scheduled on 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th April 2020, the dates now stand cancelled. Instead, the new dates will be out on 31st March 2020. Here is the complete notice.

The instructions to postpone the exam came with MHRD letter no. Secy (HE)/ MHRD) / 2020 dated 18th March 2020. Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in its letter asked NTA to postpone the exam, as the national level engineering exam witness a mass gathering of students. Since COVID-19 transmits from person to person, MHRD and NTA took the decision to delay the exam.
The notice highlights:
- The new exam dates will be announced on March 31, 2020
- Admit cards will be now be issued after March 31, 2020

What will be the new exam date of the JEE Main 2020 April Exam?
As of now, there is no hint on what the new exam date could be. NTA is observing the situation. The new exam date will depend on the following factors.
- Control over the situation of coronavirus.
- New exam dates by CBSE for class 12 board exams so that the new JEE Main 2020 exam date does not clash with them.
- Some other education boards have also postponed their board exams. NTA will consider their rescheduled dates too.
- Directions from MHRD.

JEE Main April 2020 Paper 1, 2, 3 Syllabus
The syllabus for JEE Main 2020 has been provided by NTA. It contains all the topics from which questions will be asked in the exam. It may be noted level of understanding of all the topics is expected to be of 10+2 level, that is of class 11th and 12th.
Is NCERT enough for JEE Main 2020?
To understand the theory, NCERT is enough to crack JEE Main April 2020. However it is equally important to practice MCQs from reference books. And where needed, get relevant guidance from teachers.
Cracking an entrance exam like JEE requires continuous practice and a confident mindset. Studying from various books is not a determining factor.

Note 1: In physics, there are two parts to the syllabus. Part A is theory with 80% weightage. Part B are practical topics with 20% weightage. Topics 1 to 20 given above are of part A, and rest are of part B.
Note 2: Chemistry comprises physical chemistry (topics 1 to 10), inorganic chemistry (topics 11 to 18), and organic chemistry (topics 19 to 28).

With an indefinite time left for the JEE Main April 2020 exam, here is how you should prepare for it.

Changes in JEE Main 2020
Since NTA has taken over the responsibility of holding JEE Main, few of the most prominent changes have been made in the exam. It started with NTA turning JEE Main into a complete online exam by removing pen and paper mode.
However, things changed drastically this year when NTA announced the exam pattern. As per it:
- Instead of 2 paper, now there are three paper in JEE Main 2020 for B.Tech / B.E, B.Arch, and B.Plan.
- Numerical value type questions have been introduced.
- The number of questions in B.Tech / B.E exam is now 75, in B.Arch it is 77, and 100 in B.Plan exam.
- Lastly, planning based questions have been added for the B.Plan paper.
