JEE Main Exam Pattern 2019

The JEE Main exam is being conducted two times in as year. Candidates have the option to take one or both the attempts. So, whichever session you are planning to appear you must carefully go through the JEE Main Exam Pattern 2019. Importantly, check the pattern of the papers separately. Candidates who will clear the Paper 1 will able to take the JEE Main Advanced for admissions in IITs etc.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2019 – Paper 1

You must carefully check the marking scheme, number of questions before the JEE Main Preparation.

Mode of the Examination

  • The exam will take place in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.
  • The paper is available in both English & Hindi Medium.
  • Gujarati Medium is also available for candidates from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

Duration of the Examination

  • The total duration of the examination is 3 Hours.
  • There is no sectional limit in the examination.

Number of Shifts

  • The exam will be conducted in two shifts.
  • First shift is from 09.30 AM to 12:30 PM.
  • Second shift is from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Types of Questions 

  • There are only Multiple Choice Questions in the exam.
  • Each question will have four options with one correct answer.

Marking Scheme

  • Each question carries a weightage of +4 marks.
  • There is a negative mark of -1 mark for each incorrect answer.
  • No mark will be added or deducted for unanswered question.

Difficulty level of the Examination

  • The questions are based on the questions form 11th, 12th standard.

Number of Questions

  • The paper has total of 90 questions having 30 questions in each section.
  • The section comprises of Physics Chemistry and Mathematics.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2019 – Paper 2

The following exam pattern follows for candidates who are seeking admission in B.Arch/ B.Plan courses.

Mode of the Examination

  • The exam will take place in the online mode and drawing test in pen & paper-based mode.
  • The paper is available in both English & Hindi Medium.
  • Gujarati Medium is also available for candidates from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

JEE Main 2019 Admit Card

Candidates would be able to download their JEE Main 2019 Admit Card from the official website. Those candidates who have successfully registered themselves online and paid the full application gets the hall ticket issued by the NTA. All the candidates have to appear on the allotted date and shift as mentioned in the admit card at the exam centre. No candidate is allowed to give the examination afterward.

In case of any discrepancy or unable in downloading the admit card, candidates should contact the Help LIne between 10 AM to 5 PM in the dates prescribed by the NTA. The phone numbers of the help desk are available on the website of JEE (Main).

JEE Main 2019

JEE Main is the national level engineering entrance examination which is conducted by NTA from 2019 onwards. Previously it was under the supervision of CBSE. NTA has decided to conduct this exam twice this year. The January session has been done successfully, and now April one is yet to come. While preparing for the JEE Main 2019 Aoril session, candidates must refer to the mock tests to increase the level of the preparation and get the clear scenario. It is advised to not to take much stress and maintain a healthy diet with proper sleep as it helps in enhancing the concentration power.
