JIPMER PG 2020
JIPMER PG exam is held twice a year, in the month of January and July. Both Indian and foreign nationals can apply for this entrance exam. There are a total of 115 seats up for grabs in MD and MS course taken together in the July 2020 session. JIPMER PG 2020 Result
Candidates can check JIPMER PG 2020 result in the form of a merit list on jipmer.edu.in. The merit list is released for all the categories separately and the same is used for counselling and admission. An overall merit list is also uploaded just for reference of the candidates. The result is also released in the form of a rank letter a few days after the merit list is declared. The same is to be downloaded from the respective logins of the candidates and carried to the counselling venue.
On the merit list candidates can check the following details:
- Serial number
- Roll number
- Name of the candidates
- date of birth
- Number of correct responses
- Number of wrong responses
- Total marks
- Percentile
- UR rank
- category rank
How is the merit rank decided in case of a tie in marks:
The merit rank is decided as per the percentile score of the candidates. In case 2 or more candidates get the same percentile of marks then the below given tie-breaking method is used:
- Candidates with less negative marks are given higher rank
- If the tie is still there then the candidates senior in age is given the better rank
- If the tie is not resolved even then, the candidate with the higher aggregate mark is placed higher than that of the other candidate.
JIPMER PG 2020 Counselling
The counselling is done based on the JIPMER MD / MS Entrance Exam 2020. The counselling conducted at JIPMER, Puducherry and the physical presence of the candidates is compulsory. Proportional allocation of seats and interval fixing at the time of JIPMER PG counseling 2020 is based on Model Roster of Reservation and share of entitlement. Candidates who qualify for counselling have to report at the venue, date and time mentioned in the website at the time of declaration of results.
On the day of the counselling carry these documents:
- Original Hall Ticket with seal of the Invigilator
- Rank letter
- Certificate showing the date of birth (Birth Certificate/SSLC mark List)
- MBBS Mark Statement
- Internship Completion Certificate.
- Conduct Certificate obtained from the Institute last attended.
- Transfer Certificate obtained from the Institute last studied
- Migration Certificate obtained from the University last attended.
- MBBS Degree or Provisional Pass certificate
- Permanent/Provisional Medical Registration Certificate.

JIPMER PG 2020 Entrance Exam Pattern
Candidates can check below the exam pattern for JIPMER PG Jan 2020:
Mode of the exam – It is an online computer-based test.
Duration of the test – The entrance exam is of 03 hours
Type of questions – There are objective type MCQ questions
Total number of questions – There are 250 number of questions
Marking scheme – For a correct answer, candidates get 04 marks and for an incorrect answer, 01 marks are deducted. For unanswered question no marks is deducted.
Language of the question paper: The entire exam shall be held in the English language only.

JIPMER PG 2020 Entrance Exam Cut off Marks
The candidates have to score a minimum percentile of marks to qualify the JIPMER PG 2020 entrance exam. The minimum marks or the cutoff marks are given in the table below:

JIPMER PG 2020 Admit Card
Hall ticket for JIPMER MD / MS entrance exam is issued online on the official website, jipmer.edu.in. Candidates who have successfully registered for can access the admit card. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter the User Id and password. Admit card carries the details like name, roll number, photograph and signature of image, exam date, time and venue.
On the day of the exam:
- Candidates have to carry the hardcopy of admit card
- Along with the admit card candidates have to carry anyone original ID proof like Aadhaar, Passport, Bank Passbook with a photograph, Voter ID, Driving License and photocopy of the same.
Candidates shall not be allowed to enter the exam center under any circumstances if they do not carry their admit card and a valid Id proof.
The candidates have to keep the hardcopy of the admit card safe even after the exam is over as it is needed at the time of counselling and admission in JIPMER PG 2020.

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) is a medical school situated at Pondicherry, the capital of the Union Territory of Puducherry, India. JIPMER PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must fulfill the following eligibility conditions for JIPMER MD / MS entrance exam and admission for January 2020 session.
Who is Not Eligible for JIPMER PG 2020?
Those who have already completed MD / MS from any institutions are not eligible to apply for JIPMER PG 2020.
Nationality – To be able to apply for JIPMER PG, candidates must be of any one of the below given nationality:
- Indian National (IN), or
- Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), or
- Foreign Nationals (FN)
Educational Qualification –
- The candidates must possess MBBS or an equivalent Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India.
Minimum Qualifying Marks – Candidates must have completed the degree with given below minimum marks:

Internship / Practical training –
