The candidates can check their result after entering their login credentials. The merit lists are also published for B.E. / B.Tech and B.Arch courses separately. No hardcopy of the result is sent to the candidates via post or email. The candidates who are awarded rank are required to take part in the counselling. Compilation of Karnataka DCET 2020 Result
The result for Karnataka DCET is compiled in the following way:
Raw scores: The scores are calculated as per the marking scheme decided by the official authority.
Determination of merit: The merit list is prepared according to the answers indicated in the final answer key:
For B.E. / B.Tech courses (Day and Evening) (Marks are taken into equal proportions)
- The merit list for B.E. / B.Tech courses is prepared according to the marks obtained in the final year or fifth and sixth semesters examination leading to diploma in the relevant branch of Engineering.
- The marks obtained in DCET 2020 are also considered.
For Architecture course (The marks are taken in equal proportions)
- For architecture courses, the merit list is prepared according to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination in all subjects.
- NATA scores are also considered.
Determination of rank: According to the merit order determined by KEA, ranks are assigned separately for:
- For Day Engineering colleges
- For Evening Engineering College courses (Bangalore)
- For Evening Engineering College courses (Mysore)
Karnataka DCET 2020 Tie-Breaking Criteria
If two or more candidates have the same merit, then the following tie-breaking criteria is followed to resolve the tie:
- First of all, the marks obtained in the entrance test are considered.
- If the tie still exists, then the marks secured in second year / 3rd & 4th semester are considered.
- If the tie is still there, then the marks secured in the first year / 1st & 2nd semesters are considered.
- If the tie is still there, then the age of the candidates is considered and the older candidates are given preference.

Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) is conducted by KEA. It is conducted for 2nd year B.E and 1st year of B.Arch courses. The test is conducted in the offline mode.
