M.Ed is a 2-year professional course designed to deepen the understanding of the candidates in Education and specialize in Elementary Education, Secondary or Senior Secondary Education or Higher Education. The program also aims at developing teaching and research capacities of a candidate’s. The Kerala University has invited applications by the candidates who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Education with 55% marks from a recognised university for the admission into the M.Ed course. The applications have started from 20 May 2017 and can be filled in offline mode by 06 June 2017.

After that, the 11 colleges whose names have been mentioned below with the number of seats available will prepare merit lists based on the marks obtained by the candidate in M.Ed and according to their own reservation policy and seat allotment criteria. The hen the rank list will be published and accordingly the candidate will have to report in the college in which they are seeking admission. Candidates will have to deposit the money as given in the fees structure segment and secure a seat for themselves. The candidates will then be called for Personal Interview and post that process, they will be selected for the admission. The classes will begin from 03 July.

The only condition that the candidate must fulfill in this case is that the candidate who is applying for the admission into the M.Ed course must possess a bachelor’s degree in Education or its equivalent with at least 55% from the University of Kerala.
Relaxation of Marks
Candidates belonging to SC/ST category shall be entitled to 5% of marks and candidates belonging to SEBC shall be entitled to relaxation of upto 2% of marks.

(iii) Reservation for reserved category candidates for seats in Private Self-financing Colleges and Aided Colleges where M.Ed Programme is offered on Unaided mode
Candidates who apply for the admission in private self-financing colleges and aided colleges where the M.Ed programmes is offered on unaided mode, a 50% of the seats shall be filled from open merit class which will be followed by the allotment of the seats available in reserved category and the remaining 50% shall be filled by the managements concerned.
Candidates seeking admission shall report to the colleges mentioned and collect the forms. After they fill it dully, the application form will be required to be submitted personally by the candidate in the college they are seeking admission. The last date to submit the filled application is 06 June. the filled applications shall be considered only when the candidate has completed the form and sent it with the required documents.

- Caste certificate if claiming reservation under caste category
- Candidate falling under SEBC category must furnish a non creamy layer certificate
The seats to be filled are already mentioned in the table above. The candidates shall be selected on the basis of their marks obtained in the M.Ed. Each college shall prepare its own merit list based on the marks obtained by the candidate in their M.Ed and the reservation policy of that particular college. The admission shall also carry some extra weightage as follows:-
- 15 marks – for those candidates who have secured I division with distinction
- 10 marks – for those obtaining I division
- 5 marks – if candidate has secured II division and
- 3 marks – for those who have passed the Post Graduate Examination
- 2 marks for having experience in teaching ( experience more than 6 months shall be counted only)
There shall be no rounding off of the marks and percentage and there is no age limit for the admission to M.Ed degree.
